New Angie’s Garden Unveiled at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital
DECADE OF HEALING
The rooftop oasis of Angie’s Garden has welcomed patients and families for ten years, and its reopening is cause for celebration.
Created in memory of Angie Fowler, the garden continues to offer curiosity, rest, and comfort for patients and caregivers of all ages. The renovation features redesigned planting beds and a vibrant art wall stretching across tiled walls and pillars, surrounding visitors with color and vitality. From edible plantings to immersive murals, every detail fosters inclusive, restorative experiences. The project was a true collaboration among LAND studio, DERU Landscape Architecture, KEW Gardens, Lake Blue Inc., Signature Sign Company, and Lee Baker and Catherine Borowski (pictured on cover)– the artists of Graphic Rewilding, of Brighton, UK.
Thanks to the generosity of the Fowler family, Angie’s Garden continues to honor her legacy — more than a garden, it is a place where care surrounds every visitor and hope is always present.
Continuing Our Mission Through Change
In this season, we remain dedicated to our staff, our mission, and our search for LAND studio’s next Executive Director.
LAND studio is in an exciting period of transition, with board and staff working closely to ensure the organization’s mission and momentum remain strong. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team guiding this work: Maia Hansen, former Board Chair and Senior Partner at McKinsey, is serving as Strategic Advisor on development and major projects and Elizabeth Place, Interim Executive Director and Director of Finance + Human Resources, is overseeing day-to-day operations. To lead LAND into its next chapter, the Board’s Transition Committee
has engaged a national search firm specializing in mission-driven leadership to identify our next Executive Director, with a goal of welcoming this new leader in early 2026. Thanks to your continued support, LAND’s work remains as vibrant and impactful as ever!

celebrating Charlotte Lees: a legacy of artistic support
feverdream artists take center stage in LAND’s newest gallery exhibition
LAND studio is proud to dedicate its new gallery space in honor of Cleveland-based sculptor and longtime supporter, Charlotte Lees. A recipient of an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council, Charlotte continues to inspire through both her art and her generous commitment to the community. We are grateful for the way she empowers LAND studio to make Cleveland’s public spaces healthy, beautiful, and accessible for all.
Now on view in the Charlotte Lees Gallery is Pink Smoke Rising, presented in collaboration with Feverdream, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting experimental work and nurturing artists through its residency program. Featuring new works by Jules Briggs, Crystal Miller, and Danielle Muzina, the exhibition reflects Feverdream’s values of creative development, collaboration, and community—ideals that resonate deeply with LAND.
art + health: inspiring new spaces
This summer, LAND partnered with MetroHealth’s School of Health Program to bring art into two new school-based health clinics at Anton Grdina Middle School on E. 71st Street in Garden Vally and John Marshall High School on W. 140th Street in Westpark. These clinics, designed to provide families with more convenient access to health care, now feature murals, photography, and fine art prints created by local artists Justin Michael Will, Doriyan
Coleman, and Sequoia Bostick. This project combined youth engagement with design, developed in close collaboration with School of Health Program nurses and administrators. Installation partners included Westcamp, which installed vinyl graphics, and M. Gentile, providing fine art prints and labels. The work was celebrated at a ribbon cutting in September, marking the clinics as not only centers of care but also welcoming, inspiring spaces for students and their families.
