POLO FOOD VILLAGE

HORSE VERSUS HORSEPOWER RACE

Watch a Land Rover Defender 425 Edition race a polo pony down the field. The Defender can reach 100kph in 5.8 seconds; will the agility of the pony be able to match its raw power?

The Polo Village is a must-visit to fill your belly and hydrate. PikNics, Pasta Masta, Royal Thai, Real Fruit Ice Cream and Wraps n More are among the food offerings, plus there’s a water station to refill your water bottles.

The Edge 360 Cam

Head to the Estrella Lawn to get your best social post of 2025 with the high speed–slow motion 360 cam from The Edge. Showcase your fit on the ‘Gram’ in style.

Keep an eye out for the green #NZOTTB stickers on some of the polo ponies. This means they are a retrained thoroughbred racehorse and are in the running for a $3000 cash prize. New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing sponsors the best playing thoroughbreds in polo. Seeing these horses excel beyond the racetrack and celebrating their versatility is an important part of the welfare levy which is funded by racing stakes money and set aside for the welfare of thoroughbreds while racing and in their second careers.
