In May our senior management and clinical teams launched an initiative called Perfect 10, which was a ten day initiative designed to improve patient flow in our hospitals, so that we could admit patients swiftly, look after them in the right place, and make sure they didn’t experience any delays.

Staff across both hospitals worked hard, focusing collective efforts in freeing up beds, de-escalating areas, reducing the number of medical outliers, achieving timely discharge, and eliminating delays in the patients’ pathways.

We started the ten days with no free beds, escalated areas across both hospitals, patients sleeping in Emergency Department, few planned discharges, and a frazzled workforce.

Fast forward ten days and we managed to free up beds – in fact on day 8 we had more than 100 free beds across both hospitals. We de-escalated throughout both hospitals, and have been able to reinstate the intended purpose of areas such as SAU assessment, ward clinical rooms and stroke physio.

On day 10 we had just 31 medical outliers in Preston which is a massive improvement so we’re really starting to manage our beds much better.

So how have we achieved this fantastic transformation? You have achieved this by changing the way you work.

And what is working is : 1. Early and productive board rounds 2. Early consultant ward rounds 3. Senior review, every day, before noon 4. Additional systematic weekly review of all patients with a +7 day length of stay 5. Planning discharges from the moment a patient is admitted 6. Recording an Estimated Day of Discharge for every patient 7. Prescribing TTOs the day before discharge 8. Booking transport the day before discharge 9. Discharging 40% plus patients before noon 10. Challenging any delay in a patient’s pathway

been working in a different way. By thinking ahead and planning a patient’s discharge from the point of admission, having focused board and ward rounds early in the day, and really challenging any delays we can free up beds to give you time and space to give the kind of care you want to give. We saw some great examples during Perfect 10 of staff feeling empowered to make changes in their areas, and lots of staff told us about the difference good patient flow makes to patients in the wards and the whole working environment. Having a bit of capacity has given everyone a boost and re-engergised people so we need to keep this up.

The principles we adopted during Perfect 10 will help us improve flow going forwards if we can embed this new approach, so let’s work together and make a lasting difference for our patients and for everyone who works here!”

The aim now is to embed this change so we don’t lose momentum, and you can continue to have the time and space you need to deliver good care.

So we’re moving straight into the Perfect Month, and on to the Perfect Year.

And patients are leaving hospital when they’re medically fit. Staff across many services are reporting they have the time and space to give the kind of care they want to give, so satisfaction and morale has shot through the roof!

New talent management programme The Organisational Development team has launched a new talent management programme which is designed to recognise excellence and rising stars and to get staff thinking about their future career path.

Your Hospitals Your Health is our engagement programme to involve stakeholders - patients, families, the general public, third sector and professional organisations such as commissioning groups and local authorities, in reviewing how we provide hospital services.

Since winter, senior teams in each directorate have been reviewing each of our clinical services. Each clinical service strategy review has taken into account performance, quality, workforce, market competition and commissioning intentions, to help us build a picture of how we need to deliver services in the future.

At the same time we’ve been reviewing our hospital estate, and developing a site masterplan. The site masterplan is a blueprint for what services we’ll be providing where, and how these fit together.

A wide range of staff attended a workshop in February to discuss how we should provide services in the future, and how our hospital buildings need to function to support this. Carole Spencer, Director of Strategy, is leading this work and said, “Now we have completed an initial scoping phase we want to make sure all our staff know what’s happening, and more importantly are actively contributing to future planning. This work is critical to helping us manage this demand, so that patients who need elective surgery don’t experience delays because of rising urgent medical admissions, in modern facilities that are designed for how hospitals need to work now and in years to come. This is just the start of a journey that may take us up to ten years, but it’s important that we plan for the future now. The NHS has changed massively in recent times and further challenges are inevitable, so we need to be proactive and agile so we’re in control of our future and can continue to deliver high quality care for our patients.”

Challenges for the NHS This is a period of unprecedented change and challenge for the NHS. The population is ageing.

The number of over 85 year olds will increase by 106% by 2032. And elderly people are more likely to be admitted to hospital and stay in for longer than younger people, in fact three times longer. More people are developing long term conditions such as heart disease, respiratory conditions and diabetes. The number of people with three or more long term conditions is predicted to top 1 million by 2018. And people with long term conditions use more health and social care services. We are living increasingly unhealthy lifestyles – 1 in 5 of us smoke, 1 in 3 of us drink too much alcohol and 2 in 3 of us are overweight, and this is causing a rise in largely preventable conditions such as cancer. And together these factors are creating a significant increase in demand for healthcare services, which means hospitals are getting busier and busier.

As well as managing this increase in demand, the NHS needs to continuously improve the quality of care provided to deliver better health outcomes and patient experience. This means concentrating services for less common and complex conditions in fewer hospitals where clinicians can develop expertise and experience, and providing the same standards of care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which is a particular challenge when there is a shortage of nurses and specialist staff. And the NHS Five Year Forward View says we need to focus on preventing ill health, and reorganise care around patient’s needs rather than organisational boundaries – so we need to change how we work.

And all of this is in the context of continued financial pressure where NHS organisations need to save money every year.

Our midwives win national midwifery award Our midwifery team have been named as winners of the ‘Evidence into Practice’ category at the Royal College of Midwives Annual Midwifery Awards, for their work in developing midwifery-led birth centres at both Royal Preston and Chorley hospitals.

Last year, we were awarded £754,000 by the Department of Health to invest in the development of maternity services at our hospitals. Later that year we opened the Chorley Birth Centre midwifery-led unit and we have recently opened another birth centre at Royal Preston Hospital.

The funding was awarded following a bid produced by our midwives to improve maternity services for our patients.

Both of our birth centres are midwifery-led, however, consultants, obstetricians and paediatric staff can easily and quickly access the unit if required.

Dr Tracey Cooper, Consultant Midwife, said: “We are delighted to have won this award. The team has worked so hard to develop midwifery-led care at both of our hospitals and we are pleased to say that it is making a real difference to the lives of pregnant women and their families.”

Our birth centres provide a homely, comfortable environment and now include new state-of-the art birthing rooms and integrated birthing pools.

Workforce and Education awards The first ever Workforce and Education awards have been held to recognise all the fantastic work that is being done within the Directorate.

Awards were given for a range of things, such as outstanding contribution to patient care, innovation and creativity and living the values.

Radiographers win Advancing Healthcare awards

National accreditation for our Endometriosis centre

Consultant Practitioner Radiographer Tracey Ellis and Advanced Therapy Radiographer Rachel Shaw, have won two categories in the Advancing Healthcare Awards. The first award was given for their non-medical prescribing in radiotherapy project. The team has introduced supplementary radiography nonmedical prescribing, and a system whereby cancer patients are reviewed by a specialist radiographer in a dedicated review clinic.

Patients are now reviewed weekly, or more frequently if necessary, with an approach that will also take into account their psychosocial needs, thus providing a patient-centred, holistic consultation. They were also named winners of the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer’s Spotlight award for clinical leadership, at the same awards.

Shortlisted for two business awards!

We have been shortlisted for two business awards in the ‘employer of the year’ and ‘most innovative employer’ categories.

Endometriosis is a common condition in women where tissue that behaves like the lining of the womb, is found outside the womb.

We have been shortlisted for the BIBA awards, which are the ‘Be Inspired Business Awards’ for our work with apprentices, our widening access programme and our preemployment programme.

Endometriosis affects around two million women in the UK and is a long-term condition that can cause pain, fertility problems and can also contribute to a lack of energy or depression.

Jackie Higham, Widening Participation Manager, now has to attend an interview in front of a judging panel before the winners are announced.

The Preston Endometriosis centre, at Royal Preston hospital, has been awarded accreditation status by the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE.) We are one of only a few centres in the North West to achieve this status.

National standard for hotel services Our hotel services have been awarded the national standard for customer service.

Business/Financial Acumen: Resuscitation Office, Louise Saynor. Louise has been responsible for implementing the Resuscitation trolley equipment central store (across both sites) which has resulted in increased patient safety and a projected Trust saving of £50-£80k annually due to a reduction in the expenditure and also to the waste management services.

Our hotel services, which includes our cleaners, catering staff, porters, transport, security, general office, linen, accommodation and stores staff, has been awarded the cabinet office Customer Service Excellence (CSE) national standard.

The CSE certificate was developed to offer public services a practical tool for driving customer focused changes. We were originally awarded the standard in 2012; it’s valid for a period of three years, and an on-site review is undertaken annually. We have recently been awarded the standard once again.

To achieve the standard, we were assessed against five criteria, including customer insight, the culture of the organisation, information and access, delivery and timeliness and quality of services.

Alison Slater, Assistant Director of Hotel Services, said: “We are delighted to be awarded this standard once again. Our staff work so hard to maintain the highest standards for our patients and it’s great that the hard work has been recognised.”

Recognition for our organ donor services Ian Trenholme, Chief Executive of NHS Blood and Transplant and Anthony Clarkson, Assistant Director of Organ Donation and Nursing have visited staff at Preston.

They were keen to learn more about our ED organ donor pathway and the excellent work we do in allowing families the opportunity to consider their loved ones wishes and facilitating decisions made in life after death.

Public Health England visits our innovative elderly care programme

The Big Plan

The new hybrid theatre in progress.

Our Big Plan sets out what we need to do in the year ahead, on our journey to achieving our three strategic aims, and provide excellent care with compassion. We have made some great progress in the past year, including establishing a unique nurse degree programme, being designated as a regional vascular centre, and developing a clinicianled approach to IT, as well as continuing to deliver safe and effective care for our patients and expanding our research activities. But we still have lots to do and there are plenty of challenges ahead. Work has started on our clinical service strategies, and developing the masterplan so that our hospital buildings enable the delivery of transformed models of care in the future is a key priority for us in the coming year. We will also be developing the critical care unit at Preston, and establishing additional teaching facilities at Chorley. And the good progress we made during the recent Perfect 10 initiative to improve patient flow must continue. We have requested financial support from Monitor and are forecasting a £47m deficit for the end of this year, so it is absolutely critical we deliver our local efficiency targets.

The Nursing Director of Public Health England has visited us to see the innovative work that we are doing to improve care for our older patients.

Professor Viv Bennett visited Chorley in February to witness the work of our Older People’s Programme.

Our Older People’s Programme was created in 2013 and was designed to deal with an ageing population and an increase in older patients, many of whom are living with dementia or multiple conditions.

The aim of the programme is to make our hospital environments fit for purpose and to equip our staff with the right knowledge and resources to safely and compassionately care for people with dementia.

Professor Viv Bennett also met up with our Hospital Alcohol Liaison Service (HALS) to understand how the challenge of alcohol related admissions are being addressed.

First in the country to launch innovative course to tackle shortage of nurses

Vascular Centre Last year we were designated as a regional major vascular centre for South Cumbria and Lancashire. Similarly to major trauma, patients who have serious vascular conditions have better outcomes when treated by clinicians who specialise in their conditions and who have access to the right support and facilities. Over the past year we have been working in partnership with University Hospitals Morecambe Bay; Blackpool; and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh to transfer vascular services on a phased basis to the new major vascular centre at Royal Preston Hospital.

Since last year all out of hours emergency vascular surgery has been undertaken at the major vascular centre, and all inpatient vascular surgery and vascular interventional radiology previously undertaken at Morecambe Bay has now transferred. These services will also transfer from Wigan and Blackpool over the next year.

and are top class surgery and interventional radiology facilities. We have also been recruiting the specialist team, with additional interventional radiologists, radiographers and specialist nursing staff joining in the past few months.

Marion Hopwood, programme lead said, “This has been a very complex project that has required discussion and agreement amongst four hospital trusts, the establishment of a new team and transfer of some staff, design of clinical pathways and new ways of working, implementation of clinical standards, and building a brand new facility! And though challenging, we have managed to successfully transfer the first phase of services which means patients can now receive specialist care in a modern purpose built environment and this gives them the best chance of recovery.”

Whilst the service transfer has been happening we’ve been building a new vascular suite – theatres 14 and 15 (the hybrid theatre) opened in April,

We have partnered up with The University of Bolton to launch an innovative undergraduate nursing degree course, designed to develop more nurses for the future.

The unique partnership means we are the first in England to offer student nursing places that are not commissioned by Health Education England.

Each year 50 places will be available on the three-year full-time programme, developed to tackle the shortage of nurses both nationally and locally. The first 25 students began the course in February. They are the first nursing students in England to fund their studies through the student loan system.

After successful completion of the course, each graduate will be given the opportunity to take up an entry-level staff nurse post with us. The course, which has been built on the University of Bolton’s 30-year experience as a healthcare

professional courses provider, includes a wide variety of teaching and learning delivered by staff from both the University and here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Teaching will include lectures, workshops, one to one tutorials and ‘on the job’ training with hospital staff during clinical placements.

Sue Reed, Nursing Director said: ‘We are delighted to have co-designed this innovative course with the University of Bolton and we hope that this will help us develop caring and compassionate nurses of the future. We have worked closely with the university to develop a detailed education programme and we look forward to helping to develop fantastic nurses who will be a real asset to our patients.’

Karen Swindley, Workforce and Education Director said: ‘This is a great example of the NHS working in a completely new way to

tackle workforce challenges. We are passionate and committed to developing quality assured education and we have a history of success with the delivery of the undergraduate medical programme.’

We were delighted to welcome Lord Willis, the independent chair of Health Education England’s Shape of Caring Review, who visited us to find out about the groundbreaking new undergraduate nursing degree course.

Lord Willis, Independent Chair of the Shape of Caring Review said, “I congratulate Lancashire Teaching Hospital on the development of its nursing degree programme. I am delighted when trusts such as this innovate within the current system and overcome barriers to develop a workforce which will meet service needs and deliver high quality care.”

Health and Safety week

Staff raise money in memory of porter Staff on the Rawcliffe and Winstanley wards organised a raffle in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice in memory of Paul Conway, a porter from Chorley who utilised the services there up until his death.

Cake sale on Leyland ward Staff on Leyland ward organised afternoon tea for patients, visitors and fellow colleagues to raise money for Macmillan cancer support.

Cakes were baked and donated by the team of therapists and nurses on the ward and they raised £110. They now want to make this an annual event!

All staff on the wards contributed items for the raffle and they made up hampers and individual prizes. Staff and patients got behind this fund raising effort, with particular mention to Tracy Crook, she oversaw the collection and super selling skills in achieving a grand total of £1016.27.

Celebrating Chinese New Year Staff at the Medical Rehab Unit have been celebrating the Chinese New Year with our patients. The special group therapy session focused on the Chinese New Year theme and included a large Chinese dragon, quiz, a sing along and people could even attempt to eat noodles with chopsticks!

The celebration was open to all patients, as well as their loved ones.

Research Nurse swimming 22 miles for charity Paediatric Research Nurse, Angela Waktare has swam 22 miles – the equivalent of the English Channel to raise funds for Diabetes UK. Angela decided to take part in the Swim 22 challenge because diabetes is a cause close to her heart after working with children with Type 1 diabetes for many years.

The challenge gives participants three months in which to swim 22 miles, in their local pool, either as a solo swimmer or as part of a team.

Angela said: “It sounded like a fun way to raise funds for the charity and to stay fit. As a research nurse, diabetes is still a part of my work and this is my way of helping to raise awareness of the condition.”

The Physical Risk department hosted Health and Safety week in March. The aim was to raise awareness of general safety within the trust.

A variety of safety events took place and staff were asked to submit a safety suggestion and they were entered into a prize draw.

Muslim society fund new lifesaving equipment A generous donation from the Preston Muslim Society has helped to fund new life-saving equipment for the Rosemere cancer centre.

In just over six weeks, families using eight local mosques raised £38,340.86, which included £5,000 donated by youngsters alone. The money goes towards funding new technology that helps to detect lung cancer earlier than ever before, giving patients a better chance.

Iqbal Adam from the Muslim Society, said: “It is our great pleasure to play a part in keeping this important piece of life-saving equipment in Preston. As a community, we feel it is our duty to help the hospital and we extend our thanks to the trust and Rosemere for their ongoing care.”

Kerry Silcock, Health Care Assistant on ward 18 won 1st prize, a Kindle tablet.

Datix improvements The Datix incident reporting system has been updated to make it easier to report and process incidents. Datix training is available for everyone, ring x4685 or email datix@lthtr.nhs.uk for details.

Psoriasis support group Tea parties on elderly care wards It was national Nutrition and Hydration week in March and to mark the occasion our catering services staff held tea parties for our elderly patients and enoucouraged our younger patients to help prepare meals. Our elderly care teams held several tea parties on our elderly care wards; Barton, Bleasdale, Rookwood A and Rookwood B. There was also a ‘cocktail and canapé’ event on Ribblesdale ward with a variety of therapeutic treatments and on ward 8 staff got patients involved in making their own simple snacks.

There were also displays within Charters and Chorlies restaurants to raise awareness and promote eating for health.

There is a Psoriasis support group at Chorley Hospital on the first Thursday of the month at the dermatology resource centre 7pm–8pm.

Neurophysiology team run half marathon A small team from the Neurophysiology department have completed the Blackpool Half Marathon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

The team was led by Clinical Physiologist Anne Fowler who will also be trekking the Lares Trail to Machu Picchu in October.

Anne has raised £1545 to date and in addition to the half marathon her fundraising has included cake sales, a quiz night and a ceilidh.

Health & Wellbeing Fruit and Veg For the past six months staff from the pharmacy department have been piloting a fruit a veg scheme where they can order fresh fruit and vegetables and have it delivered to work.

The mosques that contributed were the Jamea Mosque, Masjid e Falah, Maahadus Shuhaba, Quwwutul Islam, Masjid e Saliheen, Masjid Quba, Masjid e Salam and Madina Masjid.

Boogie boards on ward 3 Staff on ward 3 have been presented with six boogie boards (like a tablet that patients who cannot speak can use to communicate) and a Vascular Doppler which we use to monitor the free flap reconstruction on patients who have had oral reconstruction for head and neck cancer.

The equipment was donated by the Swallows charity, who are a support group for patients with Head and Neck Cancer in the Preston and Blackpool area. Rodney Foster, Health Safety and Environmental Officer, said: “Our staff work very hard to ensure patients and others are safe within the hospital but we all need to remember to take care of ourselves too and try to avoid unnecessary injury.

We are very pleased with the response from staff, many departments participated with their own events that focused on local safety issues. Many good safety suggestions came in and we are now looking at them all.”

For £4.00 customers can order fruit, vegetable or salad bags and have them delivered the following week. After a successful trial in the pharmacy department the plan is to hopefully roll this out to other departments. Sonia Shaw has been running the scheme for pharmacy and is willing to give advice or information. Workout at Work Day 12th June ‘Workout at Work Day’ is organised by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy to highlight the importance of keeping active at work to maintain good health and well-being. On 12th June there will be lunchtime walking groups, and meta-fit, military fitness and pilates taster sessions. Have a go at the exercise bike challenge and ‘take the stairs’ pledge. Local gym instructors will be on hand at the education centres to give you advice about keeping fit and will be running a Wii sports challenge. Keep an eye on the intranet for more details.

Beginners running club The Royal Preston Hospital running group met up for the first time on Tuesday the 14th April.

The first group met at 3.30pm with four beginners, the second group met at 5pm with nine beginners. It was a lovely sunny day for the first meeting. The session started with a brisk walk to a small local park. Once at the park the group did a few warm up exercises to loosen up. The running session consisted of one minute running, followed by 90 seconds recovery walk, we then repeated this eight times in total. Everyone ran at their own individual pace. After the running they then practised a few gentle stretches.

Over the next few weeks the group will steadily increase the time spent running.

Anne Gardner said: “I really enjoyed the run, it was well organised and planned out, looking forward to the next session.” Gwen Quayle said: “Friendly group, not hard first lesson, made me feel I could achieve it.”

For those of you who have missed out this time there will be another series of eight beginners running sessions starting on Tuesday 3.30pm or 5pm 21st July, meeting in front of the Day Treatment Centre at the front of the hospital, cost £10.00 for the series.

Linda Strickland retirement

Chaplain Jean Harris led the service in the chapel at Preston. As part of the service, each relative was given a white rose as a symbol of love for those who they have lost. Many families stayed after the service to light a candle and write a message in the book of remembrance and on the tree of remembrance.

Staff handbook app We have just launched a new app to help you access useful information when you’re on the go.

You can now see Connect and Team Brief on your phone or tablet, as well as accessing e-roster, e-learning and vacancies.

This app is also really helpful for our new starters, providing easy access to the staff handbook which includes everything you need to know about working here – conditions of employment, health and safety, how to access personal development, health and well-being, pay and pensions, and more.

Worldwide Stop the Pressure Ulcer Day All clinical areas supported the annual worldwide ‘Stop the Pressure Ulcer’ day.

Staff were encouraged to develop information boards in their area to give advice and information to patients, families, carers and staff on how to reduce pressure ulcers. The boards were judged by Julie Seed, Head of Governance who decided that the winning wards were wards 12 and 21. Both wards won a tea break hamper, the boards on ward 24 and Leyland ward were also highly commended.

The Patient Safety Team would like to thank everyone who took part in the competition for their efforts in raising awareness on pressure ulcer prevention and making the campaign a success.

92 year old Joan Hardcastle is our longest running volunteer, she started her volunteering during World War II and has volunteered for us since the 1970s. She has worked in the tea shop, on the sweet trolley and started a mobile library. Joan was working on the sweet trolley the day that her Royal Highness, Diana, Princess of Wales officially opened the newly built Royal Preston hospital in 1982.

Joan has been awarded an MBE for her commitment to volunteering and was invited to Buckingham Palace to meet Prince Charles.

Elizabeth Coleman, Practice Educator, said: “Joan is a friendly face and a good listening ear, she still runs the mobile library but also spends time with patients and has been a great support to them when they have felt alone and vulnerable whilst in hospital. We are very grateful that she has honoured us with her help for all these years.”

Joan says: “It doesn’t feel that long. I have met lots of lovely people along the way. The part I like best is meeting the patients, when you are in a bay with four chatty patients they are very happy times”.

Well done Joan and again, thank you!

Ashling Turner, Ward Manager at Barton said: “Anne will be really missed by us all on Barton, she has a heart of gold, a true professional, and excellent nurse. Always thorough and patient focused she has been a fantastic support to the ward on nights. We wish her all the very best.”

Naina Kishore Bharucha retirement Naina Kishore Bharucha, Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician, has retired after working for us for 41 years.

During that time she has provided top ups for wards, theatres and outpatients, among many others and she has helped others to develop.

She was named Mentor of the Year 2014.

However, Naina won’t be putting her feet up when she retires, she will be coming back to work two days at the Trust, continuing her teaching role at college whilst, developing and of course nurturing her much loved grandson. Phew! How will she fit it all in??

The app was designed by Kenny Lyons, our Head of Mandatory Training who said, “We developed the app to give staff more options to access information, and as technology evolves people expect to be able to get what they need at the touch of a button. The app is really user friendly and has had some great feedback, we’re now looking at developing further content and access to more systems.”

Ovarian cancer affects almost 7,000 women in the UK and is the 4th most common cause of cancer deaths in women. Most women are diagnosed in the later stages that is why it is important that women are aware of the symptoms so that they can get advice as early as possible, when found at an early stage there is a better chance of survival.

Anne started as a cadet nurse in 1970 and since then she has worked in surgery and ended her 44 years service working on Barton ward. Anne worked permanent night shifts since 1983 and is now looking forward to spending more time with her grandson Zackery and her mother. She is also looking forward to attending the patchwork group more often and doing what she wants to do without having to check a work roster to see if she is off!

Linda Strickland is retiring after working for 40 years on the maternity ward. Linda has delivered an excellent service to both mums and babies over her time with us, she gathers a stock of baby clothes for those babies who may have been sick on them all or whose parents haven’t had chance to plan for the birth and she raises money to buy Christmas gifts for the babies and their mothers too, she even wraps them herself!

Joan Hatton retirement Joan Hatton recently retired after 36 years service. Joan started out as a student nurse and was closely involved in setting up the Chest Clinic at Preston before moving to main Outpatients in Chorley.

Barbara Walmsley retirement Barbara Walmsley has retired from ward 16, after 38 years service. Barbara will be greatly missed by all her colleagues, and will always be remembered for her hardwork, support and loyalty, putting the patient at the heart of all she did.

Dr Harris and Dr Coutinho retirement Dr Harris and Dr Coutinho are retiring from the Imaging department after more than 20 years service. They will both be greatly missed and their colleagues describe them as always approachable, always positive and extremely helpful and both teachers of Yoda-like quality!

Joan was a valued member of the team and will be missed by patients, friends and colleagues.

Christine Eckersley retirement Christine Eckersley from health records is retiring after 28 years of service. Christine is very much looking forward to spending time with her family and in particular her three grandchildren, she is planning a trip to Barcelona and also has two weddings to look forward to. She intends to get her garden in order so she can sit back and relax. Christine is a respected member of the health records team and will be greatly missed by all her friends and colleagues.
