Ker-rai cleaned up Lambton Ker-rai, the creek which runs through Lambton Park, has in recent weeks been cleared of sediment and overgrowth to improve the flow of water through the creek and prevent flooding. The creek is a Hunter Water managed stormwater channel, which was flooding regularly in heavy rain and impacting the local soccer club and other park users. Hunter Water spokesperson and Lambton resident Nick Kaiser said managing Lambton Ker-rai required a balance between the environment and functionality. “Lambton Ker-rai is part of the local Lambton environment and today functions as a stormwater channel that eventually flows to the ocean. “The creek was last cleared five years ago, attracting some criticism for the impact it had on Ker-rai’s own micro ecosystem.
