We all want to look our best and in honesty the face tells all! I’d probably score myself a 6/10 for my skin routine, I do try though like most people I could be doing better. So on my quest for that summer glow I reached out to Dr Bryan for a facial MOT, he suggested doing a skin analysis and light peel.
Before undergoing any skincare treatment, it’s essential to understand your skin — and that’s where a professional skin analysis comes in. Ahead of my recent chemical peel, I had a full skin assessment carried out by the brilliant Dr. Bryan Murphy, who many of you will know as one of our trusted GNI columnists. This in-depth analysis looked at hydration levels, pore size, pigmentation, sun damage, and texture, allowing for a completely tailored approach to treatment. No two faces are the same, and that’s exactly why this step is so vital. A peel that works wonders for one person might be too harsh — or not strong enough — for another. With the analysis as our guide, Dr. Murphy was able to select the right type of peel to suit my skin’s specific needs and im also pleased to announce that even with my many holidays and use of sunbeds over the years my skin was surprisingly good
Chemical peels are often misunderstood, but they’re one of the most effective non-invasive treatments for revealing brighter, smoother, and healthier skin. Whether you’re dealing with dullness, fine lines, acne scars, or uneven tone, a peel can help lift away those layers of tired skin to reveal the glow underneath. My own results? A fresher, more even complexion with noticeable improvement in texture just days after the treatment — and minimal downtime! With expert care and proper aftercare advice from Dr. Murphy, the experience was both educational and transformative.
In a world where filters and fast fixes dominate, it’s empowering to invest in treatments that truly benefit your skin’s long-term health. So if you’ve ever been curious about chemical peels, start with a skin analysis — your face deserves that attention, and the results speak for themselves.
Here are a few words from the clinic:
Daniel attended the cosmetic suite at Cathedral Dermatology Clinic in Belfast for a skin analysis consultation with Dr Bryan. He then had a glycolic acid skin peel to lift off dead skin cells, then brighten and boost his colour and glow. Perfect for a pre-Summer fresh look, which he will compliment and maintain with at-home BPM Skincare wipes.
