Staff Spotlight: New Faces

Lauren Bradley

Lauren is one of the new Youth Services Associates in Laman's Children's Library! Before working here, she was an assistant educator at the Innovation Hub in North Little Rock and a docent at the Clinton House Museum in Fayetteville.

Lauren is super passionate about outer space. She is looking forward to designing and implementing astronomy programs for kids! Outside of work, she loves to read, garden, and travel.

Her favorite book series are Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Series of Unfortunate Events She also reads a lot of horror!

Fun Fact: Lauren is a member of the 501st Legion! They dress up in movie quality Star Wars costumes and do charity work. Their big projects are raising money for Make a Wish Foundation and visiting Children's Hospital. She even has her own trading cards and always has some on hand to give out!

Connor Brasher

Connor joins the Laman Children's Library as a Youth's Services Associate. Before working here, he worked at the River Center in Benton.

He is excited to start his new children's program: Connor’s Corner! This will be an after school program, where kids can get active, play games, and make crafts. Starting in November, Connor's Corner will be every Tuesday and Wednesday at 3 PM.

Outside of work, he loves collecting (and playing) games and movies. He owns nearly all of the superhero movies that have been released! He's also a huge fan of sports, especially the Houston NBA, NFL, and MLB teams since Houston is his hometown.

Connor's favorite book genres are YA fiction and sports nonfiction. He's also a lifelong fan of the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series! He enjoys watching superhero and horror movies and television. His favorite TV show is Avatar the Last Airbender, and some of his favorite horror movies are Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Staff Spotlight & Reader Recommendation

Tia Harris

Tia is our newest LINC Associate at the Laman Library, where she is always busy helping folks who enter the computer lab. Before working here, she was a Community Outreach specialist for Doctors Without Borders.

Tia cares deeply about making a difference in people's lives through any work She values using every opportunity to have a meaningful interaction with those who come into LINC She says, " I think that we make life about a transaction instead of an interaction and that's where we miss out on a lot!"

In the future, Tia hopes to work with the Adult Services department to start creative writing classes!

Outside of work, she likes to work out, eat Mexican and Indian food, and go to new dancing events. Her favorite genre of books are self development She loves TV that makes her think and includes lots of action and suspense

Reader Recommendation

"My new favorite read is Sister Friends Forever by Kimberla Lawson Roby. It's about friendships, marriages, relationships, and life in general.

This book explores the lives of four friends and the challenges they are learning to overcome and navigate. I could see myself in every one of the friends' stories at some point in time in my life. The book is relatable and an easy read."
