The
Museum of Modern Art's Family of Man
exhibition catalogue from 1955, which is the most commercially successful photobook ever published, motivated the local Blue-Eyed Knocker group of photographers to assemble their best work documenting universal human conditions for Argenta Branch's upcoming Humankind exhibit, according to Rita Henry, the group's coordinator.
You are invited to talk with the artists while enjoying the free Argenta Branch gallery exhibit during the next Argenta ArtWalk, from 5 to 8 p.m. on July 16. The exhibition continues 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays through Sept. 10.
Like the original, Humankind includes a trio of professional writers who offer their thoughts on the themes expressed in the photographs.
