Types of Cryptocurrency Wallets
1. Desktop wallet Desktop cryptocurrency wallets can be downloaded to a desktop or laptop computer and only accessed from certain computers. Most desktop wallets are secure, but cyber attacks on your computer can compromise their security. In case of virus or hacking, users lose all their money. Some examples of popular desktop wallets are Bitcoin Knots and Armory. 2. Virtual wallet A cloud-based virtual cryptocurrency wallet that can be accessed from anywhere with any device. Storing private keys online has become more secure and convenient with the advent of blockchain technology. However, they are vulnerable to cyberattacks and are more likely to be stolen because cloud services are controlled and managed by third parties. 3. Mobile wallet This cryptocurrency wallet can be accessed from a mobile device with an app. Many shops and supermarkets accept payments via mobile cryptocurrency wallets. However, mobile wallets have a more limited cooling capacity than desktop wallets. Some examples of popular cryptocurrency mobile wallets are Bither, Green Address, and BitGo.
