Kiosk

The proposed site is located within the campus of an architecture college in Coimbatore. The brief required a design for a food kiosk and informal seating space catering to the students.

The proposed design involves a central kiosk which is provided with a few amphitheaters for seating, placed radially around the kiosk. The kiosk is designed with a fluid floor plan, amphi-theatres that act as informal seating and surrounded by calming landscape. The site has a lot of green spaces, which could be equipped with loose furniture; outdoor seating during winters and an open space for small college events. Minimal built up and enclosed spaces amidst lush greenery, shall be a refreshing break out space for students from their busy lives.

Amphi- theatre

The amphi-theatres are semi-open structures . The seating areas are permanent structures which are equipped with aluminium frames and tensile roofing. Neutral earthy tones of materials has been used to blend in with landscaping in the site.

Kiosk

The food kiosk is a small white structure with contrast roof which is organic that extends over onto the queue area in front of the kiosk. A minimal and functional kiosk, with a rear service entry and a front food counter.
