DID YOU KNOW? SURVEYS OF OLYMPIC MEDAL winners find that Gold medalists are the happiest, followed by Bronze medalists, with Silver medalists being the least happy of the three. The theory is that those who win Silver are always left knowing they were so close to getting the Gold whereas Bronze winners tend to simply be happy to have won a medal at all.

The first edition of a new fortnightly podcast ‘The Outlet - the talk of Queenstown’ is out now.

Hosted by broadcasting veteran Brent Harbour, it features local news, features, events and jobs.

This edition, Brent talks to Duncan Forsyth about Luma returning to Queenstown Gardens this King’s Birthday weekend, bringing illuminated art, sculpture, sound production and live music

And he catches up with Ashley Light, the CEO of the Queenstown Medical Centre, who shares his concerns about how the staff shortages are taking their toll on Queenstown business owners and workers.

The Outlet, supported by the Public Interest Journalism Fund, and Queenstown App are brought to you by Queenstown Media Group, which also publishes the Lakes Weekly Bulletin.

The Outlet is presented in the same style as a radio show and we aim to make it a relatively compact listen of 15-20 minutes, about the same time it takes to drive into town from one of our subdivisions.

The Queenstown App is now available on iTunes & Google Play store and there’s also a link to the podcast on LWB’s new website. We hope you enjoy the programme.
