When Every Second Counts Residential Number Posts

by Matilde Barone, Covenant/Site Inspector LOWA requires all member properties to have a house number post or similar structure at the street property line. More importantly, can First Responders find you in an emergency? Fire and Rescue, Law Enforcement and Security personnel sometimes have difficulty finding the correct house when the number post is not in place or readily visible. For a life-threatening emergency, minutes can make a difference. Please, all members, go down to the end of your driveway and look at your address post and see if the post and numbers meet our Regulation. LOWA Regulation V.F.2. states: All house numbers shall be displayed on a post or similar structure at the street property line using reflective numbers of contrasting colors at least three inches high. The numbers must be placed so that they may be read from either direction. If your post does not meet our Regulation, please replace the post and/or the numbers. You may be able to get the materials at our nearby hardware store. The numbers must be displayed so that they are readable from the street at night when illuminated with vehicle headlights. Your cooperation in complying with this regulation would be appreciated. For questions or additional information, contact the ECC office at 540-972-2211.
