Director of Facilities Hired by Phil Rodenberg, General Manager, CMCA ®, AMS ®, PCAM ®

I am pleased to announce the candidate selected to replace Jessica Graves as Director of Facilities is Theodore R. (Ted) Mattingly. He has accepted the offer of employment and will join the team on Aug. 24. His email address will be: TMattingly@Lowa.Org Ted has over 25 years of facilities management experience, including operations oversight, project management, process improvement, and workflow coordination. He has been in his current position Th as Director of Facilities and Administrative Services eo do with the National Recreation and Park Association re R. for over 16 years. In that position, Ted oversees all (T e d) M operational and administrative functions including operating and a tti n g ly capital budget development, preventive maintenance and repair, life safety systems, construction and project management, space planning, physical security, contract management, risk management, and purchasing and records management. He is a member of the senior leadership committee and leads the emergency response and sustainability teams. Prior to working at NRPA, Ted was the Facilities Operations Manager with the American Council of Life Insurers and Facilities Coordinator with the American Red Cross. Ted earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Towson University. He is credentialed as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and a Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) by the International Facility Management Association. He also has a Professional Certificate in Facility Management from George Mason University. Since 2004, Ted has been an Adjunct Instructor with George Mason University’s Facilities Management Program. From the more than 20 resumes received during our recruitment, six initial interviews were conducted. Following the initial round, four candidates were invited to meet with the GM, Senior Managers, the Maintenance Foremen, and the Operations Center Managers. Get Out & Go LOW 3.0! Scenic Photo Contest

We are excited to announce the Third Annual LOW Scenic Photo Contest. We are looking for great photographs that showcase our community, amenities and activities. Perhaps you have already taken some fantastic shots, or maybe you want to explore LOW (while social distancing) and take some now. All photos that primarily feature a scenic view of common areas within LOW are welcome. Any type of camera may be used to take the photo. Got your cell phone handy? Then snap a great shot and send it to us! Winners will receive LOWA Gift Certificates (no cash value) and will be announced and their photos featured in the Sept. 11 issue of Lake Currents. LOWA Gift Certificates will be awarded as follows: first place $50, second place $25, third place $10. Winners will be selected by the LOWA Communications Staff. All decisions are final, including any disqualification due to contest rule violations. Please see below for contest rules & entry instructions. All eligible entries will be uploaded to LOWA.org on Sept. 11 for members to view. Photos may be submitted any time between Aug. 14 and Aug. 31. Just email your photo to LakeCurrents@LOWA.org. Contest Rules • All members and tenants are welcome to participate. LOWA employees are not eligible to participate. • All photos must have been taken within LOW between Aug. 31, 2019 – Aug. 31, 2020 (this will be verified by metadata) • Limit one photo submission per person. • Photo entry email must include photographer’s (member’s) name and lot and section and phone number. • Photos cannot include watermarks or text. • All photos must be received by email and timestamped by 5 PM, Monday, Aug. 31. • Photos that feature illegal activities or violations of LOW regulations will be disqualified. • Selfies, collages and family or group portraits should be done in such a way as to showcase our beautiful neighborhood. • Individual submitting the photo warrants that it is his or her original work. • By submitting a photo for the contest, the photographer grants Lake of the Woods Association the right to publish the photo on all forms of media including, but not limited to, LOWA.org, Lake Currents, and LOWA Social Media.
