Primed for Pumpkin So where did the summer go y’all? I remember back in March thinking the warm weather would never get here and this morning I feel that little bit of chill in the air that tells me Summer has come and gone. Apparently, it’s time to get out my sweaters and snugglies and put away my flip flops, floppy hat, shorts and tank tops. I have to admit this has been another year that, to be honest, I’ll be glad to see go. Just when I thought it was safe to “move about the cabin,” that darn COVID variant raised its ugly head and my husband and I found ourselves second-guessing our upcoming travel plans and politely declining invitations to large gatherings (and both of us are fully vaccinated). I guess now I have plenty
of time to decorate for Fall with pumpkins, scarecrows and leaves of gold, orange and red. I do love the fresh smell of apple cinnamon potpourri, and I don’t mind splurging on a nice Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte from time to time. I just hate giving up my hot summer days and warm summer nights outside on the porch with some sweetened ice tea or a nice glass of wine. I’ll always be a warm weather girl, but I’ll make the most of the cool days ahead. Maybe we’ll

get the portable fire pit out and roast marsh mellows with our grandson. Maybe I’ll get my cozy blanket out and enjoy a nice Hallmark Holiday movie. I might even get a wild hair and make a pumpkin pie, or at least buy one. At least I can now open the windows and let the cool breezes come in instead of running the AC all day. I can buy bags of candy; pick through the pieces I want and give out the leftovers for Halloween. And best of all, I can finally watch football on Sunday afternoons again while snacking on nachos and chicken wings. On second thought, bring on Fall. I can hardly wait!

“I tend to encourage people to look at their big picture first, and then move on to the details later,” said David Hedges, a Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS®), and President of Bookman Bright Inc. in Davidson. According the Hedges, the big picture items include: investments, insurance, liability issues, Qualified Retirement Plan/ IRA issues, stock options, business succession plan issues, plans for gifting to children and charitable giving.
A complete plan will also deal with durable power of attorney issues titling of assets, executor trustee issues, as well as distribution of wealth and charitable inclinations at death. “Now within any of those categories, there are multiple things that may need to be dealt with,” said Hedges. For example, under investments: are your investments of good quality? Are they the right types of investments to reach your goals, be
they generating income or growing wealth. Then there is the question of risk. How much should you be taking? “Plenty to consider,” notes Hedges. The complexity suggests the need for qualified professionals to help manage all these issues. It is also important to go into this process with the right mindset, suggests Justin Rindskopf, Two Waters Wealth in Huntersville. “The problem many people have is that they concentrate too much on things that are outside of their control and it ends up costing them money,” said Rindskopf. An example would be focusing on market rates of return. Rindskopf suggests instead that you focus your attention on three areas that are within your circle of control where small differences can accrue and lead to a major impact on you financial health in the long run. These areas are: 1) Fees and expenses associated with your investments. Rindskopf says it is well worth your time to look beyond the summary statement of advisor fees and find out the amount of internal fees that can accrue and reduce your payout in the end. 2) A second area that is very salient for retirees is tax reduction strategies. “There is a large adjustment that most people have to make in their mindset after retirement, the instead of having one major source of income from a salary or business, they will have multiple sources of income including pension payments, Social Security and other annuities,” said Rindskopf Author Sally Balch Hurme in her book “Get the Most Our of Retirement,” discusses that transition. “if you are like many people,” Hurme writes, “one of the hardest things to do upon entering retirement is to move from a savings mode to a spending mode. It can be scary to stop getting a regular paycheck and start having to withdraw from those hard-earned savings.” Part of overcoming those anxieties, Rindskopf advises, is to focus on the
items that are within your control. In the case of distributions from tax deferred plans such as 401Ks, that means paying close attention to the tax implications of your various options for taking that income. Hedges says the question is “how to generate tax favorable income, i.e., which accounts to pull from first?” 3) The third area is aligning the level of risk in your investments with your goals. “I would say their risk tolerance, investment objectives, and overall time frame when people switch from portfolio growth to taking income when they retire is most commonly overlooked,” says John Balcerzak, CFP, of A4 Wealth Advisors, LLC, in Huntersville. “The closer you get to retirement you need to De-Risk your portfolio and make sure your portfolio matches your risk tolerance at that time.” Different goals will call for different strategies. The great benefit of reviewing your finances with this mindset, says Rindskopf, is peace of mind. “You have clarity as to what you are doing with your money and why. You have added confidence when you know how and why your financial plan has been constructed.” The other side of the coin is that failing to plan carefully results in lost income and lost opportunities. The payoff is that if done well, it gives you more flexibility and more options. For one thing, Rindskopf notes, some people may even discover they can retire earlier than they expected. Hedges also notes that clients often discover hidden resources “once you turn over all the rocks.” Jeffrey Karp, President of Karp Financial Strategies, in Mooresville agrees that many people find unexpected resources when going through a careful review of their finances. Karp cautions, however, that can be downsides to seemingly golden opportunities. You have enough income to retire early? Great, but how
are you covering health insurance until Medicare kicks in? Your children didn’t need all that money you had set aside in a 529 plan? Well great, you can cash out, but there might be a penalty to pay. What about keeping the plan for the grandchildren? “There are always choices to be made,” says Karp. On a note of reassurance, Karp says that people in retirement should not feel that they have to eliminate all of their debt. ‘Smart debt’ — low interest, long term, non-revolving debt such as a remaining mortgage or even a car loan are not a problem. Things to avoid, however, are high levels of credit card debt, or open lines of credit with variable rates of return and possibly large balloon payments at the end of a term. All the advisors stress that beginning a thorough process is the key to success. Hedges gives the example of an area business owner, a new client. “I started asking a few questions and it didn’t take long for me and the new client to realize that there were some immediate improvements to be made,” said Hedges. “Here’s one: I asked her if she had an idea of what kind of income she would like after she decides to sell the business? She didn’t. I also asked her what the plan was to transition/ sell/monetize the business that she had worked so hard on?” There was no plan. “These answers are not uncommon,” said Hedges. “Answering these types of questions are not on a top ten list of things that a business owner needs to get done in the course of a day.” And while it is never too late to improve your financial plan, it is really never too early. Rindskopf and partner Derek Bostian had just met with a couple who were a year or so out from retirement. They were glad to get their plan in order, but said they wished they had done it ten years ago. This is not uncommon, and very understandable, Rindskopf said. “Life is chaotic, and you have to make planning a priority.” Maybe this time of harvest is the moment for you to make a solid plan for bringing in the sheaves. applies, and go through a quick checkup on some key numbers? “The goal isn’t necessarily to have fun, but there’s no reason not to make it enjoyable,” suggests Jeffrey Karp, President of Karp Financial Strategies, in Mooresville. “Put on some nice music, have a drink that you enjoy.” It helps to bundle the serious business with some more obviously pleasurable things. In the end though, Karp says, the goal is to
improve your future, and that is always worth some of your time. As a starting point, you could take the items below, adapted from a list by finance columnist Kimberly Lankford. As Lankford writes, “A little time spent seeing where you land along the following financial yardsticks can either reassure you that you’re in good shape or give you the guidance you need to improve your situation.”

This is the first number to look at according to many experts. The reason is clear - the balance of your revenues and expenses shows your financial stability, it tells you if you are living within your means. How to get it: 1) add up all the money coming in by totaling your monthly income from working, annuities, pensions, investments and business income. 2) total your monthly expenses — housing, utilities, health care, food, insurance, debt payments, entertainment, etc. Your best source for this information may be your bank statements, credit card bills, and transaction records from online payment services. Many banks offer free online tools that categorize your debit and credit card payments. 3) subtract expenses from income. What it tells you: if you are spending more than you are taking in, the amount of the negative cash flow number will tell you how long your savings will last. If you have a positive cash flow, knowing the amount helps you plan for goals, such as building savings for retirement, having an emergency fund, making major purchases, or reducing debt. Either way, the numbers gives you the basis for improving cash flow, either by finding ways to increase income, or lower expenses. A detailed look at expenses also helps in making decisions about how to spend — could you travel more if you moved to more affordable housing? Could you save on utilities and do more charitable giving?
No. 2. Social Security and other defined benefits.
If you have already retired and are drawing Social Security, this is part of your cash flow calculation.
But if you are not there yet, you want to have this number in order to know what to expect. The statement will tell you how much you can expect to receive dependent on your earnings and when you claim benefits. This information helps you plan based on how much you would receive if you drew when first eligible at age 62, if you wait until your ‘full retirement age’ (66 or 67 depending on your birth year), or the maximum benefit amount you would receive by waiting until age 70 to begin drawing benefits. How to get it: Most people receive an annual statement from the Social Security Administration that gives you this information. For more timely updates and convenient access, you can get a ‘My Social Security” account at ssa.gov. Similar considerations may apply to other defined benefit pensions if you are in such a plan.
No. 3. Net Worth/ Savings
This is the value of your savings, other monetary and other investments and the estimated value of your home and other real estate (net of mortgage payoff). One way to look at this number is to divide it by 25 and use that as an estimate of savings you could safely withdraw after retirement to supplement your Social Security and other income sources. Would that amount give you the income you needed for a comfortable retirement? If not, you may need to save more, retire later, or make other adjustments.
No. 4. Your credit score. How to get it: Your FICO score is available free of charge from a variety of sources. Scores range from 300 to 850, and
you are looking to have a score that is at least 760 to get the best lending rates when you need to borrow. Paying bills on time and keeping balances low on your credit cards (30% or less of each card’s limit) are the major factors in this score.
No. 5. Debt-toincome ratio
Another measure of your credit standing is the debt-to-income ratio. How to get it: This is calculated by taking your monthly debt payments and dividing by your total gross income. The number is a standard for lenders (43% for mortgage) and a good gauge of your overall financial flexibility.
No. 6. Your highest interest rate debt.
How to get it: Checking loan documents and credit card statements, find the debt with the highest interest rate. This number could also be called ‘your biggest win.’ Take for example a credit card charging 16% interest. Directing extra money to paying that debt off first gives you the biggest risk-free return you are likely to get on any investment. If you have put these figures together — congratulations! If you are like most people you have probably found some numbers you are happy about, and some areas where you would like to do better. Finding the problem areas is a very positive step, since you can’t improve what you don’t see. David Hedges, President of Bookman Bright, in Davidson, says the process of “getting their house in order” brings more than just financial benefits to his clients. “When you put your head on your pillow at night, you will rest better assured that things are set up they way they should be.” So celebrate the season with a financial checkup, and set yourself up for the adventures ahead. That green goodness already has the chopped veggies & seasoning included, and produces anything but ho-hum chili! Light, but satisfying, with the bright kick that comes from the Salsa Verde. One of the best things about this recipe is how versatile it is with lots of different toppings! I love my chili with fresh cilantro, jalapenos, and avocado. Sliced green onions and a squeeze of lime also adds a bright note to your chili. And, to make it especially yummy, top that chili with shredded cheddar cheese, a spoonful of sour cream and serve with tortilla chips. Yum! And, if there’s any left, you can freeze the cooked chili after it has cooled! Perfect for lunch too! Below you will find cooking directions for the stove top, the slow cooker, & the Instant Pot! Enjoy!
Salsa Verde Chicken Chili INGREDIENTS 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs 1 jar (16 oz.) salsa verde 3 cups chicken broth 2 tsp cumin 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 can (14 oz.) pinto beans (drained & rinsed) 1 can (14 oz.) cannelini beans (drained & rinsed) 1 can (14 oz.) corn – drained
DIRECTIONS Stovetop Add everything to a large dutch oven or stock pot. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 25-30 minutes, or once chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken and shred or chop. Return to chili and serve! Slow Cooker Add chicken, salsa, broth & spices to the slow cooker and stir. Cook on low for 4 hours or until chicken is cooked through. After 4 hours, remove chicken and shred or chop. Return chicken to chili, along with beans & corn. Cook 15-20 minutes longer, until heated through and serve! Instant Pot Add everything to the Instant Pot. If you reach the max fill line, you can add more broth after it finishes cooking. Set to manual for 8 minutes. Let the Instant Pot naturally release. Remove chicken and shred or chop. Return to chili and serve! To serve, ladle into bowls and add your favorite garnishes, such as shredded cheese, avocado, chopped onion, and sour cream! Serves 6.

Davidson Brings Single Women Together For Fellowship and Support
W
hen I moved to Davidson a little over three years ago, I was retired from a long career in advertising and marketing. Although I loved my work, at 65 I was tired of the daily grind and stress. Prior to my retirement and move, I led a full life that included women friends I’d made throughout my life. There was seldom a day that I didn’t connect with one of them. Yet, as most of us know, things can change on a dime and sadly, friendships become the casualties of our circumstances. When I decided to move to Davidson, all I knew was that it was“the place off I-77 on the lake.” Two years into living in Davidson I had discovered the town of my dreams with a unique vibe, great neighbors and a community that pulls together in so many ways. However, I still missed my “tribe” of single women friends now scattered all over the country. I went to bed one night deep in thought as to how to go about meeting more women in a similar situation over 50 and single. I posted a message on NextDoor that read: “If you are a woman over 50 and are widowed, divorced or never married and need a new tribe, private message me.” I awoke the next morning to more than 25 women who were as eager as I to meet new people. While the reasons that drew them to Davidson were both similar and different, they all shared my hope that this would be a place where they too could build a new “tribe of friends.” In June 2019 I hosted approximately 25 women at my home who had responded to my NextDoor message.
One was Karen Stewart, a widow and a retired software writer that I discovered lived just a block away. The first meeting revolved around a discussion about what we wanted the purpose of the group to be. It was decided that the main goal would be to build friendships and to share and enjoy events in and around Davidson. At that first meeting, we decided to call our organization “Kindred Spirits: Davidson.” The organization also was formed to be a support network for each other during the good times and bad. Karen, being the group’s “techie” designed and developed our private Facebook page, only open to members. One of our first outings was to Davidson College’s Holiday Concert. Another event was enjoying cocktails while watching the Davidson Christmas Parade from the comfort of a local restaurant with a perfect view of the parade route. Then members who had no plans for Thanksgiving or Christmas found solace in other members in the same boat and joined forces for holiday potlucks. Cathy Tisdale, a retired CEO of a national nonprofit, is one of the group’s original members. “I was newly retired and just arrived in Davidson when Jean posted the June 2019 invitation that created my path for making a new group of friends and acquaintances. It’s much harder to establish yourself when you no longer make friends through your children’s parents, or a group of professional colleagues, or an existing group of “old” friends. Kindred Spirits created a path for so many of us,” says Cathy. Another member, Pam Foltz said she wanted to meet women brave

enough to show up at a party hosted by a stranger. “I am glad I did,” says Foltz “because I’ve made some trusted friends who have helped me find new adventures and share good times.” Prior to COVID, the group had monthly gatherings at someone’s home, and then smaller outings to movies, festivals and other events. When COVID hit, things stopped on a dime, yet, this new “community of friends,” could now support each other through those awful months. Never was it a more important time for staying connected. The group had two, “Happy Hour” zoom calls and members stayed connected through its Facebook page. We try to maximize the coverage and also fit within their budget.” There is a Medicare Open Enrollment period each year where individuals can sign up or change their coverage. This year, 2021, the period is from October 15th through December 7th. “Open Enrollment is the busiest time of the year for us,” Finan said. “We like to meet with or speak to all clients to make sure they are aware of any changes to their plan and then make changes when needed. We do this by checking every single doctor the client sees, since some Medicare plans do work from a network of physicians. We also ask for a medication list – each insurance company has their own “formulary” or list of medications they cover and at what tier/price. This is one of the most helpful aspects we have in getting a plan that is right for the client’s specific needs. Outside of this time, we speak with our clients about the benefits of their plan as they see themselves needing more care.” Medicare health and drug plans can make changes each year—things like cost, coverage, and what providers and pharmacies are in their networks— so it is important to keep track. As you take your swing, let your arms swing in the direction your shoulders are pointed, which should be left of your target ( for right-handed golfers). Remember, when you add loft you have to add swing speed. Practice to see how much backswing you need for the distance of your target. Following these steps and allowing the swing motion to let the club head brush the turf will enable you to hit the high soft lob like a champion!

o many, Burgundy is at the pinnacle of the wine world. I’m kind of in that camp. But there are those who shy away from it. What’s going on? Burgundy wines are filled with nuance and finesse, not power. They’re a combination of elegance and complexity. To some, Burgundy is troublesome to get their arms around. To others, Burgundy wines lack the oomph that is mandatory—wines that make a simple, bold statement. But it’s not a case of one style of wine being better than another. They’re simply different. No right, no wrong. Burgundy is all about wines that express the place they come from— they express their “terroir.” Burgundy has to be the most terroir intensive wine region in the world. The region has two main grape varieties, Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for white. What makes Burgundy so interesting is the way that wines taste so differently depending on what Burgundian soil and climate they’re grown in. The, not so large, Burgundy region has 100 different Appellations d’Origine Protégée (AOP) wines. AOPs are address labels, indicating the place where grapes have been grown. Burgundy’s AOPs are grouped into four different classifications. From the lowest to the top, they are; Regional, Village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Wines carrying “Regional” on their label are made from grapes grown in any number of plots throughout the region. “Village” wines are made 34 LimitlessMagOnline.com | October 2021
from grapes grown in and around the village named on the bottle. “Premier Cru” wines are made from grapes grown in one single vineyard within a named village—both village and vineyard names appear on the label. A “Grand Cru” carries just the name of its vineyard. Rules are very strict. If an area is named on a label, grapes must come from only that area. It’s beautiful how wines vary from one plot of land to another. The reason I’ve got such a soft spot in my heart for Burgundy is that it’s the region that got me really interested in wine. My wife, Mary Ellen, and I had always been fond of wine but one meal changed everything. It was our “aha” moment. I was working quite a lot in Paris at the time and a business associate invited us to a tasting meal in a pretty nifty place in the City of Light. Several wines were poured during the meal but one in particular was a showstopper—bells rang and lights flashed. It turned out that the wine was from Burgundy— a Nuit Saint Georges, a “Village” wine. The next day we rented a car and drove to Burgundy to dig and sip deeper. To our delight, the evening’s wine had not been a “one off.” At lunch we tried the same type of wine—same experience. On leaving, we asked the restaurateur where she got her wines. List in hand, we started knocking on doors. Every wine we tasted was as good or better than the one we’d tasted in Paris. So began a beautiful friendship. These are nuanced wines—
understated but a lot going on. Like most “Old World” wines, it’s the nonfruit aspects that come out first. For me, white Burgundy is the greatest and most lingering expression of the Chardonnay grape. There’s a complex combination that is smoky, toasty, buttery, nutty and minerally. A firm acidity holds everything together. And I think Pinot Noir reaches its crowning point in red Burgundy. There’s a delicate complexity; perfumed and fruity, commonly with hints of undergrowth or mushrooms. Some wines have a gorgeous floral, violet finish. There’s even a hint of barnyard that sounds yucky but fits beautifully into the wine. We’ve been going back to Burgundy as often as possible since that first experience. We go mostly in the month of January. Air fares are cheaper and it’s the least busy time in the region. The main activity is pruning vines and making small bonfires from the clippings. The region is a dull, winter grey with smoke rising into the air. Not as pretty as the rest of the year but it has definite charm. Another nice thing is that it often rains at that time of year. That drives us down into wine cellars to cruise through crus with winemakers. Maybe it’s the ambiance of the cellar but the wines we taste are nothing short of spectacular. The only downside is that these wines can be a little pricey. But everyone deserves a treat now and then. Sadly, COVID-19 has put a dent in our Burgundy exploration. But the door is re-opening. We’ll definitely be back.

H
untersville resident Jim Casciano played basketball in high school and college and went on to have a successful coaching career with colleges in Virginia, New Jersey, Vermont, Pennsylvania, and Maine. In 2018, thought he was ready for retirement from a career coaching basketball. But, after taking a year off to regroup and decompress from the hectic schedule of travel and recruiting at the college level, he found he missed coaching. He’s excited for the new opportunity to join Woodlawn School, a private independent school serving grades K-12 in Mooresville, as the head boys’ basketball coach. We caught up with Casciano to learn more about the trajectory of his career, his coaching philosophy, and why he has no desire to leave the sport of basketball any time soon. LIMITLESS: How did you and your wife Daphne end up in the Lake Norman area? Jim: I was coaching at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and came here to take a head coaching job at Johnson & Wales University. To be honest, it was really the weather that brought us here! We’d had about 190 inches of snow that year, with thirty days being below freezing. LIMITLESS: What made you decide to retire from coaching basketball in 2018? Jim: I retired after 40 years because it seemed like a good number. I was starting to get tired of the travel and
the year-round recruiting, and my energy levels were waning. I would advise anyone who is retiring that they should have a plan, though, because I didn’t have hobbies. LIMITLESS: You served as an assistant basketball coach for two seasons at Lake Norman Charter in Huntersville. How did you hear about the position at Woodlawn School? Jim: I was Lake Norman Charter for two years . . . The people over there are great. But I learned though that once you’re a head coach you’re always a head coach. This past spring, I interviewed for head coaching jobs but three of them went to coaches who were also teachers. In CMS you can’t coach football or basketball if you’re not a teacher. When I met Shellee Young [Athletic Director at Woodlawn School], we hit it off immediately. She’s very positive. I think she’s going to do some great things. I’m part of that big picture. I hope I can upgrade and improve the basketball program to coincide with her vision. LIMITLESS: We have to ask, when it comes to college basketball and the NBA, where do your loyalties lie? Jim: For college basketball, the University of North Carolina. The highlight of my college coaching career was when Dean Smith and Bill Guthridge took me to lunch many years ago. And I’m a Philadelphia Sixers fan, but sometimes I’ll shift my allegiance. I would love to see the Lakers win another championship with LeBron James.
Jim Casciano’s Coaching Philosophy Casciano was coaching at Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, Penn. when he created the first draft of “The Total Program.” “It’s been adjusted to refer more to high school versus college,” he says. “It’s who I am. This is what I believe. This is what I want to see for our players. I hand this out to every parent and every player so they can see it.” He believes this program goes beyond basketball, encompassing attributes such as dedication, commitment, discipline, respect, and love of learning. It consists of four cornerstones: Teaching Values-Discipline should be a way of life, providing the ability to focus, organize, and set priorities. Building Dreams-This consists of creating a positive culture, building tradition, earning campus and community support, helping players get to all the next levels of winning games, championships, and state tournaments. Formula for Success-Casciano believes this formula extends beyond the standard basketball season. Head Coach-The coach serves also as a mentor, teacher, and positive role model. was reading an article last week about the positive impact that volatility can have in our lives versus our desire to have everything predictable, consistent and reliable. As I related this article to how people view their transition to their post-employment years, I asked myself if maybe it is the mundane that, deep down, worries people most?” Years ago, a recently retired individual told me that he had looked forward to retiring so that he could pursue his love of the game of golf every day, but once that reality happened, his passion for playing every day waned, because, as he said to me, golf was more fun when it was an escape from the work day. Being able to play whenever he wanted took much of the thrill away. What if one of the things we miss the most about our working years is the somewhat random and unexpected events of each day— the unpredictable potential of each day? How does True Wealth, measured by experiences accumulated/people we meet, get fulfilled if every day is the same? There is merit to finding ways to bring some uncertainty and mystery back into your day. This month’s issue may offer some ideas as it highlights the Lake Norman area towns and historical locations, museums, and plantations. What do you know about the area you live in? Is this an opportunity to explore your own community or find different types of social events? Is it time to try a new sport or exercise activity? All examples that can help balance predictability of life with a jolt of new energy. If you change the word volatility to variety, would it be easier to embrace? Would the potential thrill of victory be a reasonable reward to the possible agony of defeat (thank you ABC Sports for that phrase)? Embrace your life journey with a little unpredictability as you build your bucket of lasting memories. It will help make your retirement years a meaningful and fulfilling part of your life story.

Ramp Up to Retirement
I
f you’re within striking distance of retirement (let’s call it 5 years or less), you probably have an increasing amount of issues on your mind. If you’re within 1-2 years, you DEFINITELY have a few more things on your mind. But don’t stress yourself out over it. Take a piece at a time. Let’s take a quick look… First, you’ll need to gather up all your “stuff”. I refer to this as the first part of my IOU system: Inventory, Organize and Understand. So first, inventory everything and that includes all investment accounts, insurance policies, real property, debts…essentially your balance sheet. Next, organize it. I have a fancy software system that I pay big money for that I use to inventory and organize things but you can easily do what needs to be done on an Excel Spreadsheet. After you’re finished organizing, it’s time to understand what you have and how it fits into what you’re trying to accomplish. This is probably where you would seek some professional help from a person like me if you didn’t want to go it alone. Now there’s a lot of considerations along the way that include but are not limited to titling of assets, beneficiary designations, estate & elder law planning, Medicare enrollment and various choices, Social Security claiming strategies, etc. The list goes on. The bottom line: start getting familiar with some of the moving parts you’ll need to know for a successful retirement. The unknown can be stressful and the more that you get familiar with it, the better you’ll feel. And lastly, feel free to drop me a line or email. I’m happy to field some questions.
