Your guide to catching fish at LOZ!

The lake level was 659.1, generation of 2,400 cubic feet per second (CFS) throughout the week for a level of 659.3 by the weekend. Surface temperature at Bagnell Dam was 83 degrees. Truman Lake was at the 704.7 level.

To Note

The Lower Lake is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is from the 22- to 38-mile mark, the Upper Osage is from the 38-mile mark to the Route 65 Bridge.

Bagnell Dam spillway/Osage River

Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Fair on topwater lures, Ned rigs and plastic craws along rock banks. Catfish: Good on shad and skipjack herring.

Lower Lake

Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Fair on wacky rigged plastic worms around shad schools in the backs of coves or topwater lures and wacky rigged stick worms around wave breaks. Crappie: Slow on jigs and minnows around dock lights at night.

Gravois

Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Fair on Texas-rigged 10-inch plastic worms in brush piles 15 feet deep. Crappie: Fair trolling crankbaits and shooting jigs under docks on the main lake. Catfish: Excellent on cut shad or skipjack herring.

Upper Osage

Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Slow flipping jigs to shallow docks in the creeks. Crappie: Slow on minnows 8 to 10 feet deep around docks. White bass: Fair on Roostertails and crankbaits around shad schools. Catfish: Good on cut shad.

Mid-Lake

Water clarity: Stained. Black bass: Fair on plastic worms and jigs in brush on the main lake and on topwater lures, squarebill crankbaits and jigs around docks from midway to the backs of coves. Crappie: Good shooting jigs under main channel docks.

Grand Glaize

Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Fair on jigs and plastic worms 12 to 15 feet deep in brush piles. Crappie: Fair on jigs around shad schools and in brush piles 15 feet deep.

Niangua

Water clarity: Clear. Black bass: Fair on jigs, bladed jigs, shaky head worms and crankbaits along main and secondary points. Crappie: Slow on minnows around condo docks or trolling crankbaits on the main channel. Catfish: Slow on stink baits and prepared baits.

Truman Dam spillway

Water clarity: Clear. Fishing is slow for all species.
