Boat dock spider control is a monthly pest control service for your boat dock or marina. After visiting the area numerous times in the 70’s and early 80’s for vacation purposes, Bill and Joyce Robinson decided it was time for a change. In 1984 they left their farming community in Iowa, moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, and purchased Econo-Lift Boat Hoist. The business started in a small garage in Linn Creek, Missouri.

Eventually Econo-Lift outgrew the space and moved to its current location during Memorial Day weekend of 1988. Their son Steve and daughter Diane joined the company in 1986. Currently the company has grown to employ anywhere from 18-25 employees.

Econo-Lift has supported numerous School organizations in the area and given contributions to numerous charities as well, on National and Local levels. Rough Water Dock prides themselves in custom dock construction. The customer is involved in the dock designing process from start to finish. We help guide you through the designing and building process to achieve your dream on the water.

Rough Water Dock offers many unique add-ons to the dock construction process. We also offer standard additions such as sheds and dock boxes or lockers, but also have custom add-ons such as tiki bars, upper decks, custom high dives and fill-ins. Some of these add-ons can also be added on to a dock later, with a quick inspection we can advise if your add-ons will work for your dock.

There are many options for customization on both new and used docks, from electrical layout, ladders and dive platforms, roof colors and trims, upper decks, tiki bars and sheds, to filled in sections all maximize the fun in the dock space you already have!

WHAT ARE YOUR MOST POPULAR PRODUCTS?

A new dock with a partially covered swim with a 45 degree angle “kickback” and the swim-up stairs. This adds to some additional lounge space and more efficient use of the swim dock, but more importantly makes an awesome entertaining or relaxing area. Your new dock is sure to be your favorite place on the lake!

WHAT TRENDS ARE YOU SEEING IN THE INDUSTRY?

The built-in swim-up stairs and sheds with a platform off the dock have been really trending the last couple of years. A a shed with roll-up door and a separate platform to keep it off the dock has been one of our most popular requests on all docks.

HYDROFIN FOR PONTOON/TRITOONS

Just like wings provide lift to an airplane, Hydrofin wings lift the toons to reduce drag and increase performance. Designed to carry approximately 40% of the total weight of the boat, Hydrofin wings lift the boat an incredible 4-8″. The end result is a much faster and better performing boat that saves fuel since the motor doesn’t have to work as hard. In this day and age it is not common to have products that are made in the USA. We wanted to be a part of reversing that trend. We developed our electronic board, air manifolds, wiring harnesses, 3D printed enclosures and all of the software for the controller, cell phone and website apps all in house. We have help manufacturing some components on mass scale, but are all located in the USA and several are in Missouri. All final assembly happens at our headquarters in Laurie, MO.

The owners of the company were originally from the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed Lake life for many years before leaving the area for college and careers. Their background include degrees in Electronics, Information Technology and Nursing. They have over 25 years of technical and leadership experience and have held technical and leadership roles at Samsung, Lam Research, Applied Materials, GaSonics International, Dell Computers, O’Reilly and Tokyo Electron. They have also co-owned and operated several companies that were in Healthcare, Software Development, Insurance, Manufacturing, Housing and Food Industries.
