Introduction This training guide will give you an in-depth look at how the PeopleSoft Employee Self Service system is operated specific to Lakeland College.

After reading this guide you will be able to accomplish the following: •

Before You Begin You will receive an e-mail from the Lakeland Human Resources Department giving you your User ID (which is also your employee number) and a randomly generated password which you will use to access HR Self Service the first time. If you have received this e-mail, you may now access your Self Service Account. If you don’t receive such an e-mail, please contact the Human Resources Department. If you have not provided an e-mail address, the information will be sent to you via mail.

Note: If you have not logged in for a while and forget your User ID, it is and always will be your Employee ID. Using that and the “Forgot Password” functionality described in this guide, you will be able to access your account without having to contact the Human Resources Department.

Sign On You will find a link to MyHR in the footer of any main site Lakeland College web page.

When you click on the link you will go to a sign on page (as seen below)

Change Your Password (i)

Click on Change My Password located under Main Menu

(ii)

Enter your current password in the *Current Password field.

(iii)

Enter your new password in both the *New and *Confirm Password fields.

(iv)

Passwords must have: • • • •

At least 8 characters One special character (such as!@#$%^&*(<>?/.,) One Digit One Upper Case Character

(v)

Click Change Password to save your changes.

(vi)

You will receive a confirmation message if your password change is successful

Password Hint (i)

If this is your first time signing in, set up a hint in case you forget your password.

Click on Forgotten Password Hint located under Main Menu:

Select a Question

Provide an Answer.

(iv)

Click Save to save your changes.

In the event that you forget your password, you may click on the â&#x20AC;&#x153;Forgot your password?â&#x20AC;? link just below the log in screen. A new, temporary password will be emailed to you at the email address listed in your profile.

Personal Information View your personal information using the Human Resources Personal Information menu.

Click on Main Menu then Self Service then Personal Information.

This menu gives you access to view (not change) your personal information such as

From the Human Resources Personal Information Menu, Select Personal Information Summary.

From the Emergency Contacts Menu, click the hyperlink under Contact Name to view Emergency Contact Detail

Payroll and Compensation (i)

View your Payroll and Compensation information using the Human Resources Payroll and Compensation menu.

Click on Main Menu then Self Service then Payroll and Compensation.

This menu gives you the option to view (not change) your Payroll and Compensation information such as:

From the Payroll and Compensation menu select View Paycheck You can click on the hyperlink on under the title Cheque Date and view your paycheque.

Viewable in PDF form only if the check box under PDF File has a check mark in it. Otherwise it is viewable in an online form.

From the Payroll and Compensation menu select Direct Deposit

On the Direct Deposit page you can click View cheque example to view an example of a Cheque for reference.

From the Payroll and Compensation menu select T4/T4A Consent Form

To Consent to an electronic T4/T4A click the consent box and click Submit.

You will be asked to verify your identity. Fill in your password and click continue. An email will be sent to you confirming your submission.

From the Payroll and Compensation menu select View T4/T4A Slips Once consent is given you will be able to view your T4 by clicking the Year End Slip hyperlink, you can also view the Filing instructions by clicking the Filing Instructions hyperlink.

End of Session Warnings (i)

If you access your HR Self Service Information from a public computer at the end of your session, do not forget • to log off • to close your browser • to return to the desktop You do not want to share your personal information with others!

If you use a public printer to print off any of your HR Self Service documents, do not forget to take what you have printed with you when you are done. You do not want to leave your personal information in the printer tray!
