LCS Care & Connect Fund In this current school year, the Care & Connect Fund aims to raise $1.5 million to respond to the unique challenges placed on the school as a result of the pandemic, while maintaining a view toward its future and continued strength and permanence. Investing in this initiative will ensure that our faculty and staff have access to the resources needed to continue to care for and support our students and community.

Tuition Assistance LCS students come from many walks of life and areas of the world, creating a culturally rich student body. There is growing concern that the ongoing crisis may result in some students being unable to attend because of unanticipated fi nancial challenges. More than ever, we are committed to growing and providing opportunities for outstanding students through needs-based tuition assistance, ensuring a rich diversity of perspectives in our community. Investments in this fund will help us to grow:

Tuition assistance bursaries awarded to one in three deserving students each year.

The Hepburn Alumni Bursary—assistance provided to LCS alumni in order to help make a Grove education possible for their children and grandchildren.

The recently established Indigenous Leadership Bursary positioned to advance our commitment to becoming more accesible to Indigenous students accross Canada.

Student Success This period of global crisis means that teenagers are experiencing incredible and unprecedented mental health challenges. Simultaneously, adaptations required to meet COVID-19 protocols pose a risk of diminishing the Lakefield student experience. To address these challenges, we are fi nding new ways to foster community, boost mental health and wellbeing, and to propel our Outdoors Every Day vision. Our community can play a role in this by supporting: •
Mental health and wellbeing initiatives to ensure that Lakefield can provide students and staff with the support they need.

Outdoor classrooms, outdoor social seating, and an open air Chapel to ensure physical distancing in a very Lakefield way.
•
Intentionally designed student-focused outdoor “Lakefield” experiences that foster community, school spirit and pride.

I often spend time discussing with my dad how Lakefield has changed since he attended the school. While there are slight changes in appearance, we both agree that the same feeling is still there when you pass through the gates. The feeling of home, of support and something else that is hard to explain. The best way I can describe it is a sense of interconnected history and community. Innovation and Safety Out of every crisis, opportunities emerge. While we regularly adapt our spaces to meet safety protocols, we are also keenly focused on innovation with a long view toward ensuring the school’s continued strength and permanence. We are exploring innovative ways to utilize our full campus, indoors and out, with the possibility of year-round programming aligned with our forward-looking strategic vision. Investments in this initiative will ensure resiliency in the short term, while securing a lasting impact beyond 2020. Opportunities for support include:
