Petra Movenpick Petra En route to Petra, visit the city of Madaba. Once there, see the Madaba Mosaic Map, an ancient map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land, covering the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, proceed to the ancient rectangular walled city of Umm ar-Rasas. It was fortified by the Romans, and local Christians were still embellishing it with Byzantine-style mosaics well over 100 years after the start of the Muslim Umayyad rule. Just outside the city walls is the recently unearthed Church of Saint Stephen with its perfectly preserved floor mosaic. Umm ar-Rasas is a UNESCO world heritage site. Visit Shoubak Castle dating from the early 1100s, the same turbulent Crusaders period as Kerak. Visit Petra, the Red Rose City. Take a short horse ride to see the giant red mountains and vast mausoleums of one of the greatest wonders ever wrought by Nature and Man. Entrance to the city is through the East Siq, a narrow gorge with the first glimpse of AlKhazneh (Treasury). The Treasury is just the first of the many wonders that make up Petra. There are obelisks, temples, sacrificial altars, and colonnaded streets. Overlooking the valley, is the impressive Ad-Deir Monastery.

Jerusalem, Israel King David Hotel Although small in territory, Israel’s landscape and climate are varied, and its dense population does not interfere with a wealth of plants and wildlife, as well as many natural attractions. Arrive in Tel Aviv and transfer to Jerusalem. Walk along the Avenue of the Righteous, see the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, the Museum, and the Children’s Pavilion. Drive via the Knesset to see the new Supreme Court Building, and the Shrine of the Book to view the Dead Sea Scrolls and the scale model of Jerusalem during the time of King Herod. Take a short excursion to the Mount of Olives and see the Golden Gate. Visit the Old City of Jerusalem and the Western Wall. At the Temple Mount, see the 7th century Dome of the Rock and el Aqsa Mosque. Walk through the restored Jewish Quarter to the Cardo. Tour the Herodian Mansions, a complete residential quarter preserved from 2,000 years ago. Drive to Mt. Haifa/Bethlehem/Masada/Tel Aviv Dan Tel Aviv En route to Tel Aviv, visit Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity, Manger Square, Shepherd’s Field, and pass Rachel’s Tomb. Drive to Masada, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An exciting ascent by cable car will take you to this last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans of 73 A.D. Visit the many ruined palaces of Herod, the excavations, and the fortifications. Drive to Qumran to see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls, the earliest surviving Biblical manuscripts were found. Drive through the main streets of vibrant Tel Aviv to Old Jaffa, one of the world’s oldest ports. Walk along the winding cobblestoned streets with its charming artist’s colony, art galleries, and high quality craft shops. Visit the colorful Jaffa Flea Market. We may require a non-refundable planning fee that will automatically be credited to your final payment. Final payment is due no later than 90 days for journeys without trains and cruises. Medical Emergency Evacuation Insurance: $50,000 medical evacuation insurance in the event that an injury or illness occurs during the course of a journey outside of the insured person’s home country necessitates emergency evacuation of the insured traveler. Some excursions may include long walks and climbing stairs, and is sometimes an essential part of your journey. All travelers are expected to be in good health. Riding in 4WD vehicles on rough terrain or unpaved paths can aggravate back conditions. Flying aboard small aircraft is required in some areas. Please advise us in writing of any health issues or limitations at the time of making your reservations. Lakani World Tours reserves the right to right to decline to accept anyone on a journey. Passports / Visas: You are responsible for obtaining any travel documents/visas and verify entry requirements necessary for each country of travel and/or transit on your selected journey. Requirements vary with respect to each traveler’s citizenship. Lakani will not assume responsibilities for notice of countries’ current requirements. You are responsible for any expenses incurred as a result of the delays or itinerary changes related to your lack of appropriate travel documents. Unused Services: If you make any changes to any portion of your Selected Independent Journey or Custom Made Tour after the departure, such changes will be completely at your own expense. Smoking Policy: Smoking is prohibited at group meals, on buses and during all group activities. Guaranteed Departures: Lakani Tours are guaranteed when deposit has been accepted, except in case of force majeure, which includes any event that impedes the operation of the itinerary or may endanger travelers, and circumstances beyond the control of Lakani World Tours, among other things. Private Jet tours are exempt from the guaranteed departures policy. Airfares: All airfares are subject to change in accordance with airline tariffs and are subject to currency fluctuations and/or fuel surcharges. Lakani World Tours shall not be responsible for air ticket cancellation fees due to itinerary or departure changes or cancellations. Airline Baggage Regulations: Each airline has its own rules regarding baggage allowance. Number, size and weight limitations of suitcases can vary by airline, class of service and frequent flier status. It is recommended that all travelers check with the individual airlines and/or their websites for up to date information. Luggage exceeding the maximum restrictions is subject to expensive overage fees or is at risk of being left behind. Luggage allowance may be restricted within a country by regional airlines or air charter companies. Please refer to your final credentials for those restrictions.
