New artistic director David Ellenstein has knit together a weave of well-produced comedies and musicals, the fabric of the century-plus venue bright again... Beyond the satisfactions of the show itself, one lasting takeaway... is confidence in Ellenstein’s sure hand for mining material and bringing riches alive on stage. Where will he take us next?”

Since its humble origins more than a century ago, the Laguna Playhouse has survived and thrived thanks to the support of its community. As with all professional non-profit theatres, ticket sales only cover a portion of the cost of producing a world-class season. Generous donors fill the gap and help assure that our education programs remain accessible to all families and that outstanding productions appear on our stages.
Please consider joining our donor family to ensure that professional theatre continues to thrive in Laguna Beach.
Go to lagunaplayhouse.com/support for donor information and benefits.
In addition to incredible work onstage, Laguna Playhouse also has thriving education and outreach programs. Our camps, workshops, and classes reach kids from ages 4-19. Our year-long after-school conservatory program connects industry professionals with students in learning the skills and techniques that will guide them to success in theatre and life through a combination of classwork and performances.
Camps held during ski week, spring break, and summer vacation bring theatre and fun together for one and two-week sessions, each designed around a theme and culminating in a presentation for family and friends.
We are committed to making all of our education programs accessible to all interested students and families and offer scholarships to those who would not otherwise be able to participate.
