CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

FROM YOUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ERNIE RUIZ, PGA

IIt's a wonderful day at Lago Mar! The construction of the new deck and our expanded kitchen continues to go well. Over the past week the initial roof for the kitchen and outdoor restrooms was installed. We have also had most of the exterior areas graded.

Over the next few weeks, you will see the exterior areas of the deck and the kitchen begins the process of having stucco applied. We have also finalized the new railings for the deck area and those will be installed soon.

For safety purposes we ask that Members please not walk in any of the construction areas. It is a hazardous area, and we want to make sure no one gets hurt.

I am thrilled to share highlights from our December festivities and give you a sneak peek at what’s coming up in January. This holiday season has been nothing short of magical, and we are excited to keep the momentum going into the new year.

DECEMBER HIGHLIGHTS December was a month filled with joy, connection, and celebration at Lago Mar Country Club. Here are some of the standout moments: Members Holiday Cocktail Party: The party was a resounding success! We kicked it up a notch with the element of surprise - elevating the original concept. The live music, exquisite cuisine, festive décor and our Members dressed to the nines set the perfect tone for the evening.

Breakfast With Santa: Families gathered for a delightful morning with Santa Claus while enjoying a scrumptious breakfast buffet of all their favorites . Children loved getting their faces painted and getting customized balloon sculptures of giant candy canes, Rudolph the red nose reindeer and even butterflies and tigers.

Lago Cup: The traditioned continued with a weekend of cocktail parties, great golf and ended with newly crowned champions.

JANUARY PREVIEW As we turn the calendar to January, we’re excited to kick off the year with events that foster camaraderie and fun. Here’s what you can look forward to: Fitness Challenge Kickoff: Start the year on a healthy note with a January Fitness Challenge. Whether you’re to improve your golf or tennis swing, or finally get out on the pickleball courts, the focus is on wellness. We have something for everyone.

Member Member - we are looking forward to a wonderful weekend of great golf, fabulous food and other festivities.

Winter Wine Tasting: Join us for an evening of fine wines and gourmet pairings. Our sommelier will guide you through selections perfect for our sometimes chilly Florida weather.

Friday Night Dinners: Back by popular demand, our Friday dinner series are starting January 10th. We are all excited to see what mouthwatering creations Chef Doug will craft.

Trivia Night: Gather your smartest friends and test your knowledge at our first Trivia Night of the year. It promises to be an evening of friendly competition and laughs.

Happy New Year to You and Your Families! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and we are thrilled to welcome you into the New Year! As we step into this exciting chapter, we are overjoyed to see the remarkable progress of our new kitchen and the ongoing renovations of the club. The transformation is truly coming together, and we can’t wait to share the results with all of you.

To kick off the year, we are excited to announce the launch of Friday Night Dinners! While construction continues, these dinners will require advance orders to ensure a seamless dining experience. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these enhancements to our facility.

Our team is dedicated to expanding our food and beverage offerings to exceed your expectations and create memorable experiences for you and your guests. One of our key goals for the New Year is to foster camaraderie and consistency—values that are at the heart of our club community.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming specialty dining events: Stone Crab Claw Night: Wednesday, January 22, 2025 (advance orders required) Prime Rib Buffet Night: Wednesday, January 29, 2025 (advance orders required) In addition, our much-anticipated Member/Member Weekend will take place on January 18th and 19th. This cherished tradition promises a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow members and celebrate the spirit of our club.

As we roll into February, we look forward to hosting the Club Championships and many more exciting events throughout the season. Be sure to stay tuned for updates as we continue to plan an exceptional lineup of activities for you to enjoy.

Finally, we encourage you to share any requests or suggestions you may have. While we remain mindful of our current operational conditions, we are always open to exploring options that enhance your club experience.

2025 Winter Programs for Golf As we kick off 2025 I want encourage you to try some of the instruction programs offered here at the club. There are several groups and clinics that are already set in place. Please keep in mind that additional group classes are available upon request. The group setting is a fun and social way to learn the game, so grab a few friends or let me create a group for you.

Beginner groups are available all year long and clubs are provided ensuring you love the game before you need to purchase clubs. Which we will also help to guide you through. This is a great way to meet other members and get involved socially.

Please let me know if you are interested so we can form a new group to accommodate your schedule.

Private lessons are available including the use of video, training aids and Trackman. On course instruction and short game lessons are offered and are essential for improving your scores.

Ladies Group Class: Includes weekly topics and on course instruction: Thursdays 11:00-12:00 PM Fridays 11:00 - 12:00 PM -must sign up at least one day prior. Space is limited. No commitment, can drop in as needed.
