Goeie nuus, veral as dit groei en ontwikkeling wat gepaard gaan met kapitale belegging behels, is deesdae maar skaars. Vir Tzaneen is daar ‘n stukkie goeie nuus van ‘n prag-behuisingontwikkeling. Volgende week sal die Bulletin volledig hieroor berig, met ‘n terreinplan wat enige mens se verbeelding aangryp, plus nog illustrasies van hoe die behuising sal lyk. Die ontwikkelaar van die projek (langs die Tzaneendam) was nog dié week besig met finale afronding deur argitekte en ander betrokkenes, aan die finale voorkoms en spesifikasies. Ons het die versekering dat dit volgende week betyds vir aanstaande Vrydag se koerant gereed sal wees. Grondverskuiwingswerk is reeds volstoom op die terrein aan die gang.
Insanity will ruin our last piece of wetland The small remainder of the wetland at the main entrance to Tzaneen will be saved and rehabilitated, demanded the Department of Water and Sanitation in a directive to the owners of the Sasol filling station. Part of the reconstruction is the removal of the mountain of soil concealing the stream and wetland from the R71 and entrance. However, there are several unanswered questions by another authority about the project. The Department of Environmental Affairs deployed investigation teams through its Green Scorpions section in Polokwane to take up the matter. The stream should be canalized and the banks covered with indigenous growth, but the department seemingly suspects a smelling rat somewhere in the process. • More on page 3 and next week 11
