Tzaneen’s legal fraternity is beginning to look like a battlefield, with yet another prominent lawyer — Mr Jenke Nagel of the law firm Krüger Nagel De Jager — finding himself in dire straits. • Documents in our possession confirm that he stands accused of having used money that was meant for the firm’s trust account, to his own advantage. • The Law Society of the Northern Provinces conducted an extensive investigation into the matter and has subsequently filed for an urgent application in the High Court to have him struck from the roll as an attorney. • Furthermore Nagel stands to face criminal charges of fraud, alternatively theft and forgery. These charges have been laid with the SA Police Service’s commercial investigation unit by three different people and the charges are currently being investigated. ** We have conducted our own investigation over most of the past six months and due to the sensitive nature of the case in hand we have waited until we collected concrete facts and evidence before disclosure. Vlieg weet nie waar Afrikaanse vroulike voet ontdek het! Gedit vandaan kom dat ‘n mens nie ou praat van pantoffelregering! skoene weggooi voordat jy nuwes het nie. In Vlieg se huis word dikwels nuwe skoene weggegooi, voordat nuwes gekoop word. Vlieg het eenkeer probeer om hieroor vas in sy skoene te staan en sy voet neer te sit, maar hy moes hom baie vinnig uit die voete maak en laataand voetjie vir voetjie die huis insluip. Dit het Vlieg baie lank geneem om weer op goeie voet met die vroulike voete in sy huis te kom. So verstaan Vlieg dus ook dat daar inderdaad geen kommersieel beskikbare skoene is vir die Suid-Afrikaanse voet nie. Vlieg versit nie ‘n voet as die vroulike voete in sy huis elke derde dag nuwe skoene kry nie. As die skoen pas, word dit miskien aangetrek, maar dit beteken nie hulle word weer aangetrek nie, want die vroulike voete weet altyd presies waar die skoen druk. Vlieg het ook heeltemal begrip daarvoor dat die regte skoen nie iets is wat goedkoop kom nie. Vlieg dink in elk geval hierdie opposisie staan lankal met een voet in die graf. Omdat Vlieg al lankal nie meer op vrye voet is nie — hy is al jare getroud — verstaan hy dat die SA vroulike voet sekere unieke kenmerke het. Een daarvan is dat hulle nie

Jenke Nagel voor dreigende afgrond •
Sy dae as prokureur is waarskynlik eersdaags verby •
Daar is bitter min kans dat mnr Jenke Nagel, bekende prokureur van Tzaneen, na 11 November 2014 steeds as prokureur sal kan praktiseer. Dit is die datum waarop die Noord Gauteng Hooggeregshof (Pretoria) ‘n dringende aansoek van die Pokureursorde van die Noordelike Provinsies sal aanhoor, waarin gevra word dat hy as prokureur geskors word, hangende verdere dringende stappe om hom van die Rol (van prokureurs) te verwyder. Die Bulletin is reeds sedert April bewus van beskuldigings deur mense dat Nagel betalings wat hulle gemaak het om in trust gehou te word, na sy eie bankrekening gekanaliseer het, deur sy persoonlike bankbesonderhede te verskaf. Ons het sedertdien ons eie ondersoek gedoen en heelwat dokumente bekom. Hieruit blyk dit ook dat hy geld by mense geleen het, sonder om die kapitaal en/of rente terug te betaal, soos met die leners ooreengekom is. Dit blyk dat hy tussen die skuldeisers en geld wat vir die firma Krüger Nagel De Jager se trustrekening bedoel was, om en by R6 miljoen in sy eie sak kon laat beland het. ‘n Gedeelte van die bedrae is egter intussen aan enkele van die skuldeisers betaal, op die oog af hoofsaaklik deur die toedoen van sy (gewese) vennoot, me Karin de Jager. Sy is tans die enigste direkteur van die maatskappy en bestuur die praktyk sodat dit normaal kan voortgaan, nadat Nagel as
direkteur bedank het. Dit is nie duidelik presies wanneer hy bedank het nie, maar ons het ‘n dokument wat daarop dui dat dit verlede jaar op 13 Oktober kon gewees het. Hy was tot onlangs toe nog ‘n prokureur by die firma. Hy verskyn onverklaarbaar nog in die hof vir kliënte, maar praktiseer nie meer in of vanuit die praktyk nie. De Jager se rol is ook deur die Prokureursorde (Orde) ondersoek en sy is ook ‘n party tot die aansoek wat aangehoor sal word op 11 November. Die Orde versoek ook dat sy geskors word, maar gebaseer op mindere statutêre klagtes, onder meer die beweerde versuim om Nagel se onregmatige optrede tydig by die Orde aan te meld toe sy daarvan bewus geraak het. Gevolglik bestaan die moontlikheid dat sy ook een of ander ligter straf kan ontvang, as bewys word dat sy nie tydig en korrek opgetree het nie. Sodanige straf kan byvoorbeeld ‘n boete wees of ‘n tydelike skorsing (waar haar naam nie permanent van die Rol verwyder word nie). Die Bulletin sal natuurlik volledig berig sodra die uitslag van die Orde se aansoek teen Nagel en De Jager bekend is. De Jager is Nagel se skoonsuster en die familieverbintenis het die saak uiteraard baie moeilik vir haar gemaak. Sy moes besluit hoe
om die wangedrag te bestuur van haar vennoot, wat inderdaad ook haar suster se man is. Intussen het drie van die mense wat weens Nagel se optrede bepaalde skade gely het, klagtes van bedrog, alternatiewelik diefstal en vervalsing, by die Polisie aanhangig gemaak. Die ondersoekbeampte (van Polokwane) is met verlof en ons kon nie voor ons druktyd met hom skakel om te hoor hoe ver die ondersoek gevorder het nie. Ons het verskeie name van mense wat deur Nagel bedrieg is, maar dit is nie noodwendig almal nie. Met een van die persone het ons verskeie gesprekke gehad, maar ons weerhou die mense se name om hulle verdere moontlike verleentheid of ongerief te spaar. Een man is ‘n oud-inwoner van Tzaneen wat deesdae as ‘n senior elektriese ingenieur in Natal werk, daar is ‘n boer van Letsitele, nog ‘n kleinboer van die omgewing, ‘n weduwee van die PWV-gebied en ander. Ons het met prokureurs wat verskeie van dié mense verteenwoordig, oor die afgelope weke gesels. Terwyl hulle in enkele gevalle wel inligting in ons besit bevestig het, wou hulle nie verder kommentaar namens hul kliënte lewer nie. Dit het egter duidelik geword dat die toedrag van sake baie vloeibaar is, want daar is aansoeke om likwidasie van die regspraktyk
wat nog hangend is in die Hooggeregshof, strafregtelike klagte wat uit hul hande is en deur die Polisie ondersoek word, asook siviele eise wat afgehandel moet word. Alle prokureurs se kliënte word deur ‘n getrouheidswaarborgfonds gedek, wat beteken ‘n kliënt behoort nie materiële skade te ly as sy/haar prokureur met trustgeld oor die tou trap nie. Eweneens neem prokureurs ook versekering uit, wat bepaalde finansiële dekking bied as skade weens wangedrag van ‘n prokureur ontstaan. • Nagel was vir twee termyne die voorsitter van die Laerskool Tzaneen se beheerraad, waar hy geag is goeie werk te gedoen het. Hy was ook sowat vyf jaar gelede die voorsitter van ‘n organisasie wat gestig is om die rol van ‘n belastingbetalersvereniging in Tzaneen te vertolk, maar dit het na ‘n paar maande ‘n stille dood gesterf. Verder was hy ook ‘n paar jaar lank die voorsitter van die Pusela Waterraad. Hy het in ‘n stadium by Lushof suksesvol op klein skaal met piesangs geboer en die afgelope paar jaar het hy op ‘n mooi kleinhoewe by Hamawasha ook op klein skaal suksesvol met lietsjies geboer. Hy is ook ‘n ywerige jagter. Nagel het as strafregprokureur gewerk, terwyl De Jager as oordragprokureur werk en verder net kommersiële werk (kontrakte) doen en sy was/is nie by litigasie betrokke nie. — Francois Aucamp francois@bulletin.us.com

Search “Laeveldbulletin” said the Tzaneen Police spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, on Wednesday. We asked Ngoepe about the alleged problem with vehicles, but he confirmed that the Tzaneen Cluster does not experience any shortage of vehicles. “Our people can execute their duties,” he said in reply to our enquiry.
Tzaneen and high crime Police in Tzaneen have arrested 74 people for various criminal activities over the past week: Nineteen people were arrested for contravening the Road Traffic Act, twelve for shoplifting, three for assault, four for assault GBH, two for being in possession of tool that are used to break into vehicles, four for fraud, three for theft, four for drinking in public, three for contravening the Liquor Act and the rest got arrested for violation of a protection order, theft out of a motor vehicle, theft of copper, malicious damage to property, robbery, burglary, rape, arson and drunken driving.

Mokgoloboto residents demand a lot Disgruntled residents of Mokgoloboto (next to Nkowankowa) marched to the Greater Tzaneen Municipality’s offices in Tzaneen on Wednesday, to deliver a memorandum of demands. In a special memorandum they list the demands which they feel need urgent attention from the GTM. Their main demands include: access to clean water for every household, elec-
tricity and toilets for every household. Other demands include a high school to be built by January 2015. They made it crystal clear that should this demand not be met, they will take action. They have given the GTM fourteen working days to reply to their demands. Speaking for the residents was Mr Willy Malesa of the Development Forum, who said it is high time that the GTM stop appointing an unreliable and working ward councillor for residents of
Mokgoloboto. He further said that the GTM must not send its delegation to appoint a ward councillor of its choice, but rather leave it to them (residents) to elect a councillor of their choice. GTM mayor Dikeledi Mmetle welcomed the demands and signed the memorandum. However, Mmetle clearly stated that only the three basic services — being water, electricity and toilets — were under the jurisdiction of the GTM. Houtgerus Die Groter Tzaneen Munisipaliteit se heersers is byna arrogant gerus oor hul eie laksheid om belastingbetalers met inligting oor wat hulle doen en nie doen nie, ter wille te wees. Dit sal egter goed wees as hulle tot die besef kan kom dat alle mense, ook kollektief, ‘n versadigingspunt het en as daar hard genoeg gedruk word, word daardie punt mettertyd bereik. Dit is dan dat die water oorkook en water wat oorkook is kookwater en kookwater brand mens (nogal seer). Die jongste geval van miskenning van die GM se inwoners is die reëlings met parkeermeters in die middedorp. Dit het die dorp se inwoners en besoekers van buite die dorp soos ‘n bak yswater in die gesig getref. Om sake te vererger het die GTM se segsman erg klei getrap om te verduidelik hoe dit gebeur het dat motoriste salig onbewus gelaat is van die nuwe orde met verkeer. Hy’t ge-um en ge-ah, ‘n paar wolhaarstories aan ons probeer verkoop, in ‘n stadium geheueverlies gekry, ensovoorts en so meer. Voorheen is al (juis oor verkeer) vir ons blatant gelieg. Slut-shaming is a serious set-back on the fight for gender-equality Last week I approached a certain company looking for contact details of the organiser of a function the company was holding – for business/work purposes. To my luck, the first person I spoke to at my arrival, a woman, knew the organiser of the function and could find out information for me. She, however, said she would not give me the contact details of the organiser, a man, for our correspondence, because he is her husband. Although this is not out-rightly slut-shaming – not with direct articulation that is, it points to a certain perception/attitude that arises whenever a woman interacts with a man. I remember reading somewhere (I’m struggling to locate the text) that objections towards women going into the workplace back in the early days of activisms for gender equality included that women would be a disruption to men. Switzerland in Summer? No, Limpopo Lowveld in Spring... Stanford Lake College’s Gr 8’s undertook a ‘Twin Peaks’ Trek. They set out on a Friday morning from the Outdoor Centre at the school, to cover 80 km of mountain hiking in the beautiful Wolkberg Mountains. The group summited both the Iron Crown and Serala, the two highest points in the Wolkberg Mountain Range. They also performed a much needed environmental project while on Serala, removing over 3 000 small Pine, Bluegum and Blackwood trees in an effort to preserve the rare grasslands biome on the mountain slopes. The group returned to civilisation a week later, tired and dirty but proud to have completed such a challenging expedition. A few of the Gr 8’s are seen here looking over the Wonderwout from Serala. What a magnificent sight... right here, on our doorstep.
R16 billion injection In what can only be seen as a much-needed injection into the country’s economic vein, coal company Exxaro Resources has set out R16.1billion in growth capital at its Grootegeluk mine near Lephalale in the Waterberg. The aim is to increase its supply of coal from Limpopo to 35 million tons per year (mtpy) and includes the development of the new Thabametsi open-pit coal mine and beneficiation complex. Big plans for Limpopo reserves With close to R56 million to be spent on a number of upgrade projects at parks
and nature reserves in Limpopo within the next six months, towns like Mokopane, Modimolle and Lephalale stand to gain huge economic and social benefits. The flagship project will be at Doorndraai Dam near Mokopane. Mr Du Toit Malan from the Limpopo Tourism Agency said that slightly more than R30 million will be spent on this resort. He added that conservationists also envision the linking up of the Waterberg Biosphere with the Kruger to Canyon Biosphere which would see a green belt stretching from Botswana all the way to the Indian Ocean.

Continuing from last time with the theme “Obstacles to Grace” there are two primary obstacles to grace: Those that hinder our relationship with God, and Those that hinder our relationship with other people. Obstacles to our relationship with God: Idolatry, blasphemy, resisting God, ignoring God, disobedience, un-belief, ignorance pride, un-forgiveness towards God and others. Remember: Forgiveness is not the same as forgetting, nor does it mean that one has to stay in an abusive or hurtful relationship. Obstacles to our relationship with others: Murder, addiction and abuse, lying, gossip or slander, stealing, coveting, laziness, dishonour. There is, however, another obstacle and that is our relationship with ourselves: Lack of love, bitterness and spiritual blindness. So how do we overcome these obstacles? Only through Jesus Christ. Look at the cross, it reminds us that Christ restored our relationship with God, in it we remember our reconciliation, our Baptism, we recover our identity as children of God. The cross is the centre of our faith, it is the most powerful witness to the central message of the Bible, God created us; God loves us and Christ died for us. We must be prepared to receive the power to walk in the Spirit. Have you accepted Christ as your Saviour? Are you walking in His footsteps and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit? However, statistics show, anyone can be raped at any time regardless of what one is wearing. The only precaution one can take to avoid being raped is to not be at a certain place at a certain time; knowledge of which is rather super-natural. Are we really allergic to attractiveness? It almost gets to a point where people become restless by being around someone they consider sexually enticing to men whatever it is. Society is unbelievably too quick to reduce women to their, cis-gender, sexuality. We need to stop!

dat van die staal daar as skroot verkoop is. Omdat belastingbetalers se geld ter sprake was (is), het verskeie bure in die omgewing van die plaas én die Bulletin dit onder die GTM se aandag gebring. Dit is egter geïgnoreer. Van die bure het dit toe onder die Polisie se aandag gebring en met foto’s aangevul. Ons navraag by die Polisie oor hoekom nie opgetree is nie, het tot en met ons druktyd geen resultaat gebring nie. Eweneens kan of wil die GTM ook nie sê hoekom hulle nie voldoende reëlings getref om die diefstal te voorkom of deeglik te laat ondersoek het nie. Intussen gebeur daar oënskynlik niks op die plaas om die boerdery te laat vlot nie. Die miljoene wat hier “gestort” is, behoort aan die GTM se belastingbetalende inwoners en mense wil dit nou onder hoër gesag se aandag bring. Lekker at Kraakvars Oppi Plaas
Hennie Botha and his son Bekker made tasty steak rolls for the many customers that flocked to the Kraakvars Oppi Plaas fresh produce market at Lushof on the R71 outside Tzaneen on Saturday. Children were also catered for with slides, jumping castles and a sandpit. Kaper val vas ‘n Mislukte motorkaping op die Georges Valley-pad het gelei tot nog ‘n mislukte plaasaanval en die aankeer van ‘n stropersbende wat reeds hul stempel elders in Tzaneen afgedruk het. ‘n Vrou en haar twee seuns in Georges Valley is Maandag deur ‘n gewapende rower met ‘n haelgeweer gedreig, nadat sy kapingspoging skeefgeloop het. Hy het ‘n vrou se motor gekaap, maar sy het sowat twee kilometer buite die dorp van die pad getrek en weggehardloop. Nadat hy ‘n skoot in haar rigting geskiet het, het hy na die kleinhoewe van mnr Thinus van Deventer gehardloop. Hy het by die agterdeur ingestorm en Van Deventer se vrou, Estelle, en een van haar twee seuns, Lourens, met die haelgeweer aangehou. Nog ‘n seun, Coenraad, was in sy kamer, en het na waarskuwings van sy ma en broer versigtig deur die kombuis beweeg om die betreder vas te vat. Na ‘n hewige gestoei, waartydens twee skote
afgegaan het, is die man oorrompel en op die werf aan ‘n paal vasgemaak tot die polisie opgedaag het. Niemand is in die voorval beseer nie, maar een skoot het me Van Deventer en een van haar seuns net-net gemis. New band launched at Merensky Excitement was tangible when RAAM, the newly formed band at Merensky High School launched the first “Wowee-Wednesday” cultural event at Plasieland last week. The band, consisting mainly of hostel residents, delivered a foursome of songs to the crowds’ delight. They have been rehearsing the past term, and plan great things for the future. What is amazing, is that all the members can play at least two instruments, ensuring continuous variation on the keyboard, drums and guitars. Once a month “Wowee-Wednesdays” promises to be a big hit with the Plasies, where everybody can enjoy a zippy talent show presented by talented pupils. Rudolf Beetge (lead guitar), Micaela Ball (vocals & guitar), Mpho Mofokeng (drums & keyboard), Angie Nel (drums & keyboard) and Adam Mohale (vocals) are the members of the new band.
Frozen Fantasy hi-light of final school year Merensky High School hosted their matric farewell with a “Frozen” theme last week at the Fairview Hotel. As word spread fast around town, the Class of 2014 won Jacaranda FM’s “Make our Farewell Famous” competition, and had the privilege of the well-known Arod as their DJ, thus ruling the dance floor till pumpkin hour. DJ Arod went the extra mile, playing recorded dedications from well-known artists like Lianie May, Jack Parrow and Jay throughout the evening. The Plasie girls looked simply stunning, and the scrubbed up boys acted like true celebrities on the catwalk. The scrumptious four course meal served by the Gr 11 ice maidens and gents, complemented the Frozen theme. All and sundry enjoyed a memorable snow covered evening, and for the Matric class of 2014, it truly granted a moment frozen in time!

“Quad-trick” for Plasies’ cricket team Better than a hat-trick, a quad-trick is what the first cricket team of Merensky High School achieved over the past four years. For the fourth consecutive year, the team played in the Limpopo finals against PHS and reigned victorious. With a home field advantage, the Plasies won the toss and sent their opponents in to bat. Merensky restricted the PHS score to 160 runs after 32 overs. In the 30th over, Merensky made 161 runs, only conceding four wickets. The game was in the Plasies’ pockets with six wickets still safe. Great bowling by Rynard de Lange and Asad Patel was seen, each taking two wickets. The batters rose to the challenge and Johan Louw scored a fantastic 57 runs, while Rynard de Lange achieved 36 and Rassie Pretorius 35. Because of this great achievement, Merensky’s first cricket team will play in the Noordvaal quarter final against the winners of Noordwes. Local cricket enthusiasts are invited to attend this game at the Merensky Oval on 25 October. Last weekend the Spur Schools’ MTB Nationals event was held at Bekker High School near Magaliesberg. The event consisted of three races. This year saw the largest field yet, with all nine provinces being represented. Limpopo was represented by Louis Trichardt High School and Stanford Lake College with SLC taking up six spots in the provincial team. The riders were: u.19: Abigail Joubert; u.16: Lachlan Truesdale and Rebecca Desmet; u.15: Kirsten Eastes, Bryce Reed and Matthew Wilkinson. Due to being only a small team, SLC could not compete with the other schools, but Abigail managed a 16th place and Kirsten

Merensky’s u.15 boys tennis visits Sun City Merensky High School’s promising u.15 boys tennis team participated in the Wilson Shield Weekender Tournament for high schools. This tournament was held at Sun City at the end of September. Except for tennis against very strong teams from Ermelo, Volkskool Heidelberg, Middelburg and Witbank, the five boys had the time of their lives. Stefan Pretorius managed to win all his matches except against Ermelo. He was definitely the star of the Plasie team at this tournament. All the Plasie tennis players will start preparing for next year’s tournaments. It is believed that there will be very strong boys and girls teams working hard and practicing full out with the new professional coach joining the Blue team from January 2015.

Lede van die Hoërskool Ben Vorster se leerlingraad het die deurnag tydens Kansa se Relay for Life baie geniet. Hier is van die lede voordat hulle in groot erns begin stap het. Ongelukkig is geen name saam met die foto’s gestuur nie.
More (Saterdag) word die Letaba Rugbyklub se raakrugby-toernooi aangebied. Die toernooi word vir die tweede keer aangebied, omdat verlede jaar se toeskouers en deelnemers daarop aangedring het. Speeltyd is tien minute per wedstryd, met vyf spelers per span wat enige tyd afgewissel kan word. Wedstryde word op die helfte van die rugbyveld gespeel (dus vier spanne speel tegelykertyd) en fiksheid is dus nie so ‘n groot faktor nie. “Bring jou kosmandjie of ‘n rooster en ‘n braaipak en kom geniet die vars lug, die lekker gesels, die prettige rugby en die ontspan-atmosfeer,” nooi die voorsitter van die klub, mnr Pieter Human. A hopeful contender for honours at the 7th annual Bulamahlo Sports and Cultural Day marathon.
Leandi Toerien, well-known swimmer of Merensky High School, once again excelled when she was awarded the victrix ludorum trophy during the recent inter-high gala. The Merensky swimming team took second place at the event.
Triple champ yields to new winner in annual Bulamahlo marathon The annual Bulamahlo Sports and Culture Day lived up to its expectations as athletes from around Tzaneen geared up for the occasion last week Saturday. This was the seventh edition of this prestigious event since its inception in 2008. The day was characterised by a marathon which started at Maake Plaza and ended at Mogapeng sports ground, where other sporting activities took place; amongst them, soccer, netball, xibelani and sekgapa music dance.
