Surprise bill for GTM

Farmers in the Agatha area have taken matters into their own hands to fix potholes in roads, and to clear overgrowth on the side of the road to improve visibility around bends. This came after numerous calls upon the GTM to address the dangerous road situation fell on deaf and seemingly unwilling ears. Now the GTM can expect a bill for services rendered...

Members of Agatha’s Safety and Security Association have decided to invoice the Greater Tzaneen Municipality for work that they have done to fix the two tar roads from Tzaneen to the Coach House Hotel area. Residents of the area first bought tar and stone to fix the huge potholes in the road to the SPCA/Landfill site. They followed up this action by employing labourers to clear the overgrowth on the sides of the road. Now they have shifted their attention to the other road (past the New

Industrial Area), where the overgrowth has become life threatening to motorists. A spokesperson for the Agatha SSA, Mr Ron Reiners, says “we have no choice but to do the maintenance to these roads ourselves, since it has become extremely dangerous for motorists and pedestrians. “We have also decided to send an account to the GTM, since we are paying our rates and taxes and should not be responsible for the work we are forced to do.”

Katie Morgets (Miss Limpopo Teen 2013), Gail Mokwatlo (Face of Tzaneng Mall 2013 First Princess), Lebogang Malatji (Face of Tzaneng Mall 2013) and Esmarie Pheiffer (Face of Tzaneng Mall 2013 Second Princess) were favourites with the big audience that attended the Face of Tzaneen Mall fashion parade and pag-

eant on Saturday. The organiser of the event, Ms Katryn Barwise, a previous Miss Limpopo, said the event was a huge success. She says she has already started planning for next year’s event, since it is clearly a winning formula. Bulletin co-sponsored the Photo: Lilly Feather Photography event.
