Åsmund S. Lærdal Founder, Laerdal Medical
A proud history Laerdal was established as a children’s publishing and toy company in 1940 with the mission of “creating children’s joy”. During the next years, Anne dolls and Tomte cars became popular throughout Europe. Laerdal’s pioneering work led to the first manikin for resuscitation training and changed the course of the company through three generations.
