Beginning Friday, May 13, D6330 will be holding its second virtual RYLA Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders! Just like last year, the senior leaders have been hard at work putting together an amazing program of inspiring speakers, engaging activities, and thought-provoking discussion that will help students develop their leadership skills and potential and leave them feeling excited and ready to take on new challenges in their communities. Unlike last year, however, these amazing leaders have a year of virtual RYLA experience under their belts, and they are ready to deliver the next level of virtual RYLA! We are excited to share one exciting piece of this year's D6330 RYLA Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders: the two phenomenal speakers we have lined!
Dillon Mendes. First up, Dillon Mendes! Dillon is an alumnus of the Top 35 under 35 global changemaker awards, the co-founder of the social enterprise, PickWaste (featured on CBC, CTV, and CityNews), and a TEDx & youth speaker. Over the past four years, Dillon has travelled across North America, speaking to thousands of students about community impact and student leadership.
Dan Edwards. Next up, we have Dan Edwards! Dan is a motivational speaker, co-author, and mental health advocate from Sarnia, Ontario. Dan speaks of how his life was greatly impacted in 2006 after his accident where he suffered a spinal cord injury. 10 years after his community raised $150,000 for his family following his injury, Dan founded the Do It For Sarnia campaign for The Bluewater Health Foundation, raising over $150,000 as of 2019 for The Bluewater Health Hospitals Mental Health & Addiction Services. Dan spoke at the Seminar last year, and absolutely wowed the audience with his message of inspiration, hope, and encouragement.
• SEMINAR - The seminar is Friday, May 13 in the evening and Saturday, May 14 during the day.
