OUR NEW CLUB PRESIDENT – 2021-22

I retired after 36 years as a Community Banker. My job allowed me the opportunity to wear many hats, sometimes all at once, including Branch Administrator and lender.

My first husband (who has passed away) and I had two children.

• Our daughter, her husband, and 8-year-old son have just recently moved back to Michigan from California. • Our son, his wife, and their 10-year-old son and almost-8year-old daughter live in Chicago.

I have been married thirteen years to my wonderful husband, Don. He has five children, fourteen grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren. There is lots of love!

I became a Rotarian in 1988. There were three women who joined the Imlay City Rotary Club at the same time. We were the first of many.

Because my husband was in Rotary, I was very familiar and had already been involved; and often times, so were our children. Positions I held throughout the years include President, Chairman of Foundation Committee, Membership Committee, Vocational Committee, Chair of many fundraisers and projects. Hosting Group Study Exchange members, Friendship Exchange members, and the occasional short term student exchange were the best.

I traveled to Ethiopia to do polio plus immunizations in several villages. Because my brother is a Polio survivor this was an important trip.

Community involvement, often times in conjunction with the Rotary club, included Board member and/or President of Chamber of commerce, Big Brothers/Big sisters, United Way, Teamworks, various advisory boards for school and community, and Chairman of Lapeer County American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Currently, to my dismay, I am still President of our residence condominium association.

Being President of the District 6330 Passport Club is a great honor, and a responsibility I will do my best to succeed in for all of us.

Your trust in me can only be equaled by my dependency on you. Club President, Joyce
