Shrek Jr. has been on my list to stage for few years, and it is a delight to finally see it come to life at LEH. It has been a genuine pleasure to collaborate once again with Ms Redman, our last production together was Matilda in 2022, and it has been wonderful to reunite as a team. We are especially grateful to her for embracing the spirit of the show from the very beginning, even sporting Shrek ears during those first rehearsals!
The cast have been an absolute delight to work with, tackling the intricate choreography with such commitment and enthusiasm. A special mention must go to the Duloc performers, who have worked incredibly hard to achieve such precision. The cast and crew have really come together as an ensemble; we’ve been so impressed by their camaraderie, truly demonstrating that you can achieve anything when you’re part of a supportive team.
Since January, we’ve been designing and refining the set, making countless adjustments along the way, and I think it’s safe to say that Mr Spry and Mr Jones have excelled once again. Seeing the students’ faces when they first encountered the set was a magical moment we won’t forget!
