On Tuesday, 7 March 2023, Mantsopa Local Municipality stated that during a Special Council meeting, it was resolved to appoint Matiro Ellen Rebecca Mogopodi as the new Municipal Manager The municipality stated: “Ms Matiro Ellen Rebecca Mogopodi, was today [7th of March2023]appointedasthe new Municipal Manager of Mantsopa Local Municipality (MLM) during the Special Council meeting that was convened at Manyatseng Council Chamber, in Ladybrand” Mantsopa Local Municipality also stated that

Ms Mogopodibringswithher rich managerial pedigree as she once served as the Municipal Manager of Tswelopele Local Municipality (TLM) from 2017 until 2022 “Her appointment will take effect from the 1st of April, 2023, and on a fixed term contract of employment effective from 1 April 2023 ending on 31st May 2027 Her appointment is as prescribed in terms of the Local Government: Sections 54A and 57 (6)(f) of theMunicipalSystemsAct,32 of2000asamendedin2022,” saidthemunicipality.
