Flabby Arms Getting through Tough Times

GETTING THROUGH TOUGH TIMES

At some point in our lives, we will all pass through difficult and tough times. With the current situation and the worldwide crisis we are all facing, it is totally normal to feel stressed, anxious, worried, and even angry. Our perspective on things determines how we feel and the emotions we encounter. A shift in the way we think during turmoil will accordingly cause a shift in how we feel and how we operate under stress. When stressed in hard times we are less likely to get through it and our thinking capacity is clouded with fear and predicting worst-case scenarios that we feel to find solutions or ways to cope. If you are currently passing through tough time, here is what you need to do to feel less stressed.

ACKNOWLEDGE AND ANALYZE YOUR EMOTIONS

Understand your emotions and deal with them instead of suppressing or avoiding them. Suppressing negative emotions will not help you overcome them; on the contrary, those emotions will grow on you. By suppressing you are not taking the emotion outside, you are keeping it all in, you will dwell on it. Let it out, vent to someone who can listen and understand, cry if you feel like it. However, do not hide away from how you feel.

LEARN FROM PREVIOUS CHALLENGING TIMES

Remember a previous ordeal or problem you have been through. What did you learn from it? That this too shall pass. Every time we face a serious problem, we think this is it; we will not make it out of it as we used to be before, and it will break us and change us. Yes, it will change you, but it will change you to a stronger person and you will make it through. You have overcome several challenges before; you will overcome this one too.

BE ABLE TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CATASTROPHE & A SITUATION OF INCONVENIENCE

Our minds can play tricks with us. When in fear or under stress, your mind can exaggerate the situation making you think of all the possible worst-case scenarios. When you magnify a problem, you will turn a fixable situation into an absolute calamity and you will paralyze your mental capability in finding a solution.

LEARN TO ACCEPT

Let go of what you cannot control and accept the situation you are in. Asking yourself questions like “Why did this happen to me?” or “Why do I have to suffer?” will not help you solve the problem. Accept things and instead of panicking over why it happened, find way to get through it.

REMIND YOURSELF OF YOUR STRENGTHS

When we face a difficult situation, we barely think about our strengths, we only look at our weaknesses, and we might see ourselves as losers. Reminding yourself with your strengths will boost your confidence and you will believe in your capabilities in finding your way out of a problem or dealing with it more effectively

STAY POSITIVE & BREATHE

Take a deep breath, relax and breathe. Stay positive and believe it in your heart that even tough times end. Life is filled with ups and downs, this is the way it has always been and always will be, after the darkest nights comes the dawn. No matter where you stand today, a positive mindset will help you get through it; a negative mindset will only make things worse for you.
