Photos and story by Diane Anderson

The Children’s Heart Foundation held its second annual Hearts That Hope gala at the elegant Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and had the option to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to sit at a special table featuring a selection of wines and an upgraded dinner menu.

Among the evening’s honorees were Caroline Lee and Mark Rodefeld. The Special Heart Warrior Honoree was Thomas Webber, with remarks by his parents Forrest and Jess Webber, and broadcaster Chris Hrabe served as emcee. Both the live auction and fund-a-need were announced by Shannon Eason.

Our goal with the Hearts that Hope gala is to increase the awareness surrounding congenital heart defects, which are the most common birth defects. In addition, we celebrate the successes of our doctors, nurses and researchers who, with the help of our research dollars, work tirelessly to improve the lives of those diagnosed with congenital heart defects.
