Now, close to a full recovery from the challenges of Superstorm Sandy, the Ladew Cat Sanctuary has had a rebounding, championship season. In this issue of the ladew mews we’ll replay our own recent accomplishments; we’ll salute a baseball great who proves it is “macho” to love cats; we’ll thank a veterinarian who bats a thousand treating kitties on the DL (disabled list) and support another veterinarian in her quest to ban declaws in cats.
Five Ladew Kitties Touch Home Base! Adoptapalooza, held on September 8 in Manhattan, was a huge success! Over 200 same day adoptions with another 400 applications pending for rescue groups belonging to the Mayor’s Alliance for New York City’s Animals. It was a long, hot day in September and worth every second, because we found great homes for 5 of our kitties! th
