AsIreflectbackonthethirdyearoftheDepartmentofYouth Development,Iamgratefulfortheimpactwehavebeenable tohaveonthelivesofyoungpeopleinLosAngelesCounty thankstoourgrowingcommunityofpartners.
Thisyear,DYDhasbeeninaseasonofaction. Ourteamhasalmostdoubledinsize.Togetherwithyouall, wehavenowbroughtthevastmajorityofYouthJustice Reimaginedrecommendationstolifeandhavecreatedanew StrategicPlanthatwillguideusthroughwhatcomesnext.
2025hasbeenanincrediblydifficultyearforallofus.From devastatingfirestotheimpactofimmigrationenforcement onourneighborsandfamiliestotheongoingharmsyoung peopleexperienceinjuvenilejusticefacilities,wehaveallbeen respondingtocrisisaftercrisisthisyear.Despitethosecrises, ourworktogetherhascreatednewopportunitiesforyouth.
