Digital youth work means effective and proactive using or addressing digital media and technology in youth work. It has the same goals as youth work in general, and can be included in any youth work setting (open youth work, youth information and counselling, youth clubs, inclusive youth work, etc.). Digital media and technology can be either a tool, an activity or a content in youth work.
For young people, online life is becoming an increasingly important part, and we, as youth workers, cannot ignore this situation. Moreover, the topic of digital technologies is increasingly being introduced into youth work, as this is an effective way to communicate with young people, especially with youngsters with less opportunities.
