Pre Procedure Colonoscopy Instructions

To obtain the full benefits of the colonoscopy exam, the colon must be clean and free of stool. This involves following the recommended dietary regime and drinking a solution which flushes the colon clean.
Dietary Guidelines
Two days before the procedure begin a low residue/fiber diet
Foods that are ok to eat are:
Proteins: Eggs, Meat/Poultry, Fish, Shellfish. Ensure meat is well cooked. Avoid Tough meats with gristle
Milk and Dairy: Milk, Cream, Cheese, Yogurt, Sour cream
Bread and Grains: Breads and grains made with refined white flour (including rolls, mu ns,bagels, pasta), White rice, Plain crackers, such as Saltines, Low-fiber cereal (including pu ed, rice, cream of wheat, corn flakes)
Fruit and Vegetables: Fruit juice without pulp, Ripe cantaloupe and honeydew, Canned or cooked fruit without seeds or skin. Canned or cooked vegetables without skin or peel (includes peeled carrots, mushrooms, turnips, asparagus tips). Potatoes without skin.
Desserts: Custard, Plain pudding, Ice cream, Sherbet or sorbet, Jell-O or gelatin without added fruit or red or purple dye, Cookies or cake made with white flour, prepared without seeds, dried fruit, or nuts
Drinks and Beverages: Co ee, Tea, Hot chocolate or cocoa, Clear fruit drinks (no pulp), Soda and other carbonated beverages, Ensure.
Other: smooth/creamy peanut or almond butter, butter, vegetable and other oils, Broth, bouillon, consomme, and strained soups, Milk or cream-based soup, strained, sugar and sweeteners, honey, syrup.
Foods that are NOT ok to eat:
Nuts, seeds, granola, raw or cooked fruit with skin or seeds, dried fruit, raw vegetables, vegetables with skin, seeds, peel, Corn, Potatoes with skin, Tomatoes, Cucumbers with seeds and peel, Cooked cabbage or Brussels sprouts, Green peas, Summer and winter
squash, Lima beans, Onions, legumes, brown/wild rice, whole grains (bread/pasta,cereal), Juice with pulp, beverages with red or purple dye (including jello), Coconut, Popcorn, Jam, Relishes, Pickles, Olives, Stone-ground mustard.
One day before the procedure is clear liquid only diet.
Liquids that are ok to drink are:
Water
Tea and black co ee without any milk, cream, or lightener
Flavored water without red or purple dye
Clear, light colored juices such as apple, white grape, lemonade without pulp, and white cranberry
Clear broth including chicken, beef, or vegetable
Soda
Sports drinks such as Gatorade and Propel (light colors only)
Jello-O or other gelatin without fruit; no red or purple dye
Liquids NOT ok to drink are:
Milk
Smoothies
Alcoholic beverages
Milkshakes
Cream
Orange juice
Grapefruit juice
Tomato juice
Soup (other than clear broth)
Cooked cereal
Juice, Popsicles, or gelatins with red or purple dye
Bowel Preparation Instructions
SUPREP Bowel Prep Kit is an osmotic laxative indicated for cleansing of the colon as a preparation for colonoscopy. SUPREP Bowel Prep Kit is a split-dose (2-day) regimen. Both 6ounce bottles are required for a complete prep
The evening before your procedure:
Do not eat any solid or soft food. Drink plenty of clear liquids throughout the day to prevent dehydration from the bowel preparation. Do not drink alcohol. 1.
Drink the first bottle of SUPREP Bowel prep starting at 6:00pm the evening before the procedure. 2.
Pour 1 bottle of SUPREP into the mixing container and add cool drinking water to the 16ounce line on the container and mix. Drink ALL the liquid in the container.

Drink 2 more 16-ounce containers of water over the next hour
It is normal to feel full and bloated during the prep
If you experience vomiting, stop taking the prep, wait 30 minutes and then restart and drink it slowly.
Continue to drink clear liquids throughout the evening
The day of your procedure:

If scheduled to go to the hospital between 7:00am-11:00pm for your procedure, drink the second bottle at 4:00am
If scheduled to go to the hospital between 11:00am-3:00pm, drink the second bottle at 8:00am.
Pour the second bottle of SUPREP into the mixing container and add cool drinking water to the 16-ounce line on the container and mix. Drink ALL the liquid in the container

3. Drink two additional 16-ounce containers of water over the next hour.

Correct timing is essential for an optimal bowel prep – set an alarm clock if necessary
