America's #1 Best Place to Live

Johns Creek has just been named the #1 Best Place to Live in America by U.S. News & World Report for 2025-2026 – a remarkable achievement that reflects what we've known all along. Out of more than 850 cities evaluated nationwide, Johns Creek earned this top ranking thanks to our exceptional quality of life, thriving job market, and the nation's lowest crime rate.

Johns Creek has emerged as a global leader in the medical device industry, with Alcon – our city's largest employer – serving as the flagship for this thriving sector. Combined with top-rated schools, Emory Johns Creek Hospital ranked #8 in Georgia, and a median household income of $163,653, we've created an environment where businesses and families thrive together.

Transformative Growth on the Horizon. Our city is experiencing unprecedented growth that will reshape Johns Creek for generations. The Johns Creek Town Center Project represents our most ambitious vision – a 192-acre innovation hub larger than Piedmont Park, featuring residential, office, retail, entertainment, and outdoor spaces. The Medley, developed by Toro Development Company, is the $560 million centerpiece of this transformation. This 43-acre development opens in late 2026, bringing 200,000 square feet of retail space, 110,000 square feet of offices, and 900 luxury residential units.

Construction is underway on our signature Creekside Park, featuring an amphitheater and boardwalks that will serve as the centerpiece for community gatherings. This $36 million project represents our largest individual construction investment to date.

Your Chamber's Commitment to Excellence. The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce remains focused on our three core pillars: advocacy, networking, and business resources. Our advocacy efforts ensure your voice is heard at every level of government. Through networking events and programs, we create meaningful connections that drive business success. Our business resources continue to expand, offering educational workshops, market intelligence, and mentorship programs.

I'm pleased to introduce two outstanding new team members strengthening our member services: Richard Brooks and Breana Millan.

A Future Built Together. The recognition of Johns Creek as America's best place to live reflects our unlimited potential. As The Medley rises and our Town Center vision becomes reality, we'll see new businesses, talent, and opportunities emerge for Chamber members. This Guidebook represents more than a business directory – it's a roadmap to the most dynamic business community in America. Thank you for being part of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce family. SPOTLIGHT ON JOHNS CREEK

Major progress is underway at Medley, the $560 million mixed-use district that will become the heart of John’s Creek’s 192-acre Town Center.

Dubbed “Medley” for its variety of flavors, experiences and people, the 43-acre project includes a mix of bestin-class retail, restaurants, fitness and entertainment concepts, a boutique hotel, lifestyle office space, multifamily residences, for-sale townhomes and an activated Plaza.

Developed by Toro Development Company (TDC), the mixed-use community will infuse resort-style hospitality throughout its walkable streets and community gathering spaces, which will be programmed with more than 200 events each year. As the “Third Place” for Johns Creek, Medley will be the place where people come to gather outside their homes (first place) and offices (second place), to celebrate life’s special moments. Medley officially broke ground in January, paving the way for its grand opening on October 29, 2026.

“As we count down the minutes until Medley’s grand opening next year, we are actively transforming the site into an energized mixed-use destination and Third Place for Johns Creek,” said TDC’s Chief Vision Officer Mark Toro. “For far too long, this community has been missing a place to call its own; a place that seamlessly brings together walkable streets, activated greenspaces, firstto-market retailers, chef-driven restaurants and more in one connected and urban-esque environment. We can’t wait to meet you at Medley soon.”

Medley includes 150,000 square feet of retail space that is already leased to nearly 30 best-in-class concepts. The retail mix currently includes a specialty neighborhood

grocer, STIR, Sephora, Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill, High Country Outfitters, Playa Bowls, BODYROK, Petfolk, CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, Fadó Irish Pub, Summit Coffee, Lily Sushi Bar, Knuckies Hoagies, Cookie Fix, Sugarcoat Beauty, BODY20, AYA Medical Spa, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar, Five Daughters Bakery, Drybar® Shops, Minnie Olivia, Burdlife, Amorino, Pause Studio, Fogón and Lions and Clean Your Dirty Face®. More retail announcements will be shared soon.

Boehringer Ingelheim, a leader in animal health innovation, leased 73,000 square feet of lifestyle office space at Medley. In Summer 2026, Medley will become the new U.S. Animal Health headquarters for Boehringer Ingelheim and house almost 500 employees. Boehringer Ingelheim will occupy two full floors of Medley’s lifestyle office building overlooking the shops and dining along Medley Boulevard and the 25,000-square-foot Plaza.

In addition, TDC recently unveiled plans for Medley’s neighborhood of 133 luxury, full-brick townhomes. Developed by Empire Communities, the neighborhood represents a novel category in residential real estate that offers the benefits of an urban lifestyle while still living in the suburbs. Home sales will be available in 2026.

As Medley continues to take shape, more exciting moments are on the horizon. TDC plans to share details on Medley’s luxury multifamily residences and boutique hotel in the coming months.

For the latest project news and information, follow Medley on Instagram and Facebook at @MedleyJohnsCreek and visit its website at medleyjohnscreek.com.

HISTORY OF JOHNS CREEK

Why do you think Johns Creek is a good place to live?

Johns Creek, stands out as an exceptional place to live, offering a blend of top-tier education and abundant recreational opportunities as well as a welcoming location for business success. Johns Creek's extensive park system encompasses more than 400 acres across nine parks. Notable parks like Newtown Park, the newly opened Cauley Creek Park, and the Boardwalk at Town Center (opening 2026) provide residents with access to walking trails, sports facilities, playgrounds, and community events, fostering a vibrant and active lifestyle, as part of the City’s dedication to being a premier city for Health, Wellness, and Innovation.

Is there good access to healthcare?

Johns Creek, Georgia, provides residents and visitors with highly accessible healthcare, highlighted by the award-winning Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

The City of Johns Creek became the first municipality in the State of Georgia to be designated as a gold level BioReady® Community.

Are there plenty of job options in Johns Creek?

Johns Creek prides itself on being very pro-business and provides companies with a place to flourish and thrive thanks to quality schools, neighborhoods, and a talented and highly educated workforce. Johns Creek is home to many large employers as well as many smaller local and familyowned businesses. The City’s unemployment rate is 1.7% which is better than Atlanta (3.9%), Georgia (3.6%), and the national average of 4.2%. Synergies with our community and businesses are at the heart of the City’s branding and Economic Development efforts enabling Johns Creek to be a premier City of Health, Wellness, and Innovation.

TheCity of Johns Creek has a surprisingly rich history tracing back to the early 1800s when its land was part of the Cherokee Nation and home to several with leadership roles in the Cherokee government. There is the 1840s story of a gold nugget discovered in a local field and the gold rush that followed, complete with a flood of prospectors panning the creeks and farmers digging mines and adapting a grist mill to process the ore. By the mid-1800s, six ferries on this section of the Chattahoochee were in operation facilitating the movement of traders, travelers, settlers, and farmers taking products to market.

Throughout its rural history, local farmers were innovators and pioneers in breeding seeds and stock, developing agricultural processes, and adopting conservation practices. However, much of the history here is filled with the stories of the hardships and joys of everyday life on the rural farms that dotted the area. All lived within one of four historic communities of Warsaw, Shakerag, Newtown, and Ocee each with its own school, social center, and businesses that served the farm families’ needs and created a sense of identity that still remains today.

Johns Creek’s modern history is still being made, a continuation of the recent evolution from a very rural southern farming area to a city of over 85,000 known for its schools, attractive housing, golf courses, educated population, and diversity. The Johns Creek Historical Society is busy researching it all, collecting the documents, stories, and artifacts to create both a physical and digital archive to preserve 200 years of Johns Creek’s history.

A historical society project with the City is preserving and improving the Macedonia Cemetery, a small AfricanAmerican cemetery and burial place of at least six who were enslaved and others who were first and second generation descendants of slaves on local farms. Researching those buried at the site is providing the opportunity to learn the history of the local AfricanAmerican population going back to the time of the Cherokee Nation.

Learn more at www.JohnsCreekHistory.org and watch for our history archives opening to the public.

Johns Creek is a vibrant, active community known for its swim, tennis, and golf lifestyle —and for its wide variety of events that bring residents and visitors together throughout the year. These gatherings help us celebrate our city's diversity, promote connection, and offer fun for all ages.

Our Recreation and Parks Department coordinates a full calendar of family-friendly events, including concerts and movies under the stars, sports leagues, fitness classes, and adaptive recreation. We are especially proud of our cultural celebrations, including the International Festival, Diwali Market, Lunar New Year Celebration, and Juneteenth event. With over 85,000 residents representing cultures from around the globe, Johns Creek is one of the most diverse cities in Georgia and the nation.

A community favorite is our summer concert series at the Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater in Newtown Park.

Since 2014, these free concerts have featured a wide range of musical acts that appeal to audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Public safety is also part of the community spirit. Each year, the Johns Creek Police Department hosts a 5K run, a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Georgia, reinforcing our city's commitment to giving back.

From our Easter Bunny Hop and Movies at Newtown Park, to the Independence Day Celebration and festive holiday events in November and December, Johns Creek offers something for everyone. Whether you're a long-time resident, a returning visitor, or experiencing our city for the first time, our events create lasting memories and a strong sense of belonging.

We are excited to continue expanding our offerings and welcoming even more

Each participating gardener provides seeds or plants for their plot. The City of Johns Creek pays for the water.

How is the weather in Johns Creek?

Johns Creek, like most of northern Georgia, has a temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters. It is a great place to experience all seasons.

HOUSING Johns Creek... Georgia’s Best Community to Call Home

Tucked into the northeast corner of Fulton County, Johns Creek continues to set the standard for what suburban living in Metro Atlanta can—and should— be. With its top-ranked schools, vibrant community, strong housing market, and exciting new developments, it’s no surprise that Johns Creek is consistently ranked among the best places to live in Georgia. For families, professionals, and retirees alike, Johns Creek offers more than just a home—it offers a lifestyle.

A Market on the Move

The Johns Creek housing market has remained remarkably resilient, even amid national uncertainty. As of early 2025, the median home sold price in Johns Creek stands at approximately $780,000, with many properties receiving multiple offers due to low inventory and sustained demand. Days on market remains low—averaging about 30 days with updated homes selling much quicker than those needing a little more lipstick!

Over the past five years, home values have appreciated by more than 35%, and while the rate of growth has begun to stabilize, demand remains high. Much of this is driven by relocation buyers moving from urban Atlanta and out-ofstate markets who are drawn to the high quality of life here. Buyers are particularly interested in single-family homes in established neighborhoods like Seven Oaks, Medlock Bridge, and St. Ives and Country Club of the South. Whether it’s the excellent schools, incredible parks, quality healthcare, or proximity to top employers, Johns Creek has become a highly desirable location for long-term investment.

The Power of Education

One of the most compelling reasons families move to Johns Creek is for the exceptional public school system. The area is served by Fulton County Schools, with several schools— including Northview High School, Johns Creek High School, and River Trail Middle School—regularly earning national recognition. These schools consistently rank among the top in the state for academic achievement, SAT scores, and college readiness.

The educational excellence doesn’t stop at the public level. Private institutions like Woodward North and Mount Pisgah Christian School also attract families who prioritize academic rigor and community involvement.

Great schools are not only a draw for families—they also help drive and protect property values, making Johns Creek a sound investment whether you're buying your forever home or growing your real estate portfolio.

The Medley: A Catalyst for Growth

In 2024, construction began on one of Johns Creek’s most anticipated developments: The Medley, a 43-acre mixeduse community set to redefine live-work-play in North Fulton. Once complete, The Medley will feature a curated mix of upscale retail, dining, office space, green space, and residential living—all designed with walkability and community engagement in mind.

This type of thoughtfully planned development is more than just a convenience; it’s a value booster. Communities anchored by mixed-use projects tend to see higher property appreciation, especially when they become lifestyle hubs. The Medley is expected to enhance both economic activity and neighborhood desirability, which bodes well for homeowners and local businesses alike.

A Connected and Welcoming Community

Beyond schools and statistics, what truly sets Johns Creek apart is its sense of community. Residents enjoy access to nearly 400 acres of parkland, miles of multi-use trails, and seasonal events like Johns Creek International Festival and Summer Concert Series. And, let’s not forget about our fourlegged friends! Johns Creek’s Newtown Dream Dog Park was ranked as the #2 dog park in the country by USA Today! This city is not only safe—with crime rates well below the national average—but also diverse and inclusive, creating a welcoming environment for all.

Why Buy Now?

In a time when many markets are cooling, Johns Creek continues to show strength and stability. The fundamentals— great schools, limited inventory, strong community amenities, and thoughtful development—point to sustained demand and future growth. Whether you're a first-time buyer, a move-up family, or an investor, Johns Creek is a smart move.

As a local Realtor and resident, I’ve had the privilege of helping many clients find not just a house, but a true sense of belonging here. If you’re considering making a move, I’d be happy to help you explore the opportunities that await in this exceptional community.

Drugs Don’t Work in Georgia

DEDICATED TO PROVIDING

Why establish a Drug-Free workplace program? For the safety of your Business and Employees!

• The program’s main goal is to create healthy communities to live and work through establishing drug-free workplaces.

• The primary purpose of DDW in Georgia is to assist businesses in the development of comprehensive drug-free workplace programs, to supply free and discounted drug-free workplace services, and to educate working parents on how to take to their children about drugs.

Potential Savings in Cost and Liabilities: Would you like a 7.5% discount on your worker’s comp insurance premium?

• Employees using drugs are often more likely to cause workplace accidents or file workers’ compensation claims.

• Higher employee turnover

Creating a substance abuse policy helps to retain valuable employees who may have experienced a temporary lapse by guiding them to the right treatment resources and providing them with hope for returning to work in the future.

Interested in incorporating a Substance Abuse Policy (SAP) within your small business? Contact the Chamber! Here are the basic requirements.

• A minimal amount of training (provided by the Chamber)

• A substance abuse policy in place (the Chamber provides a fill-in the blank policy)

• Monthly distribution of the Drugs Don’t Work newsletter (provided by the Chamber)

• This program is ONLY available through the Chamber of Commerce. The Johns Creek Chamber is a facilitator of this program.

This program is open to both non-Chamber members and Chamber members. For more details call the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce at (770) 495-0545

The latest offering in orthopaedics is the addition of Mako SmartRobotics™, an innovative solution for many suffering from painful arthritis of the knee or hip. Based on the severity of a patient’s condition, total or partial knee or hip replacement may be recommended by an orthopaedic surgeon. These procedures involve the surgeon guiding Mako’s robotic arm to remove diseased bone and cartilage. In clinical studies, Mako resulted in more accurate placement and alignment of implants, reduced blood loss, less likelihood of dislocation, and preservation of healthy bone, soft tissue, and ligaments.

We want to continue to meet the needs of our community and grow our services so local residents will not have to seek care elsewhere,” says McCoy “Our goal is to always provide extraordinary care and unparalleled compassion for every patient, every day ” !

BOUNDLESS BEAUTY AND FUN LEISURE

Largely young, active and affluent, Johns Creek offers a variety of social, cultural and outdoor recreational amenities to its citizens. Nature lovers can walk, jog, bike or hike in picturesque Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center or amid 46 local acres of The Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Many fine city-owned parks provide organized sports opportunities for youngsters. Johns Creek pet-owners can enjoy a dog park at Newtown Park, courtesy of Beneful dog food company. Johns Creek dogs give it “ten paws out of ten paws” for being a top notch hangout!

Music lovers applaud the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra. The community is also served by the Cultural Arts Alliance at Johns Creek, a non-profit partnership of individual artists, arts, cultural organizations and other entities.

Shopping and dining choices abound both within Johns Creek and nearby. Catch a first-run movie at the Regal multiplex cinema, or “shop till you drop” at many upscale shopping plazas that feature nationally known and locally-operated boutiques and restaurants.
