A visual exploration and meditation on peace and truth
COLLABORATIVE PROJECT The Photography I + II Students were asked to think about the concepts of Peace and Truth. To examine what those words and ideas meant to them. They were challenged to think of the words as the kernel of a concept. They then spent time examining how those initial seeds spread out and influence their world and perspective. Finally they were asked to capture images that conveyed visually their personal take on the far reaches and effects of both peace and truth. Please enjoy this Visual Exploration and Meditation.

Our Intention... The intention behind this collaborative gallery of photographs was to communicate that, the overall concepts of truth and peace are universally important. They are far more important than individual recognition, and they are valued by each person in a unique and personal way. The more personal and specific a work of art is, the more universal it can be. The photography students who have remained in our photography class at KIS, on zoom during this incredibly challenging time have shared their own perspective on these large ideas. They have shared these perspectives despite being evacuated or having remained in an active war zone. They have shared them despite moving multiple times, attending a second school at the same time, while air raid sirens blared, while they were worried about and missing loved ones, while being in completely different time zones, while not having a camera or friends in class beside them to work with and bounce ideas off. These artists are Kozaks to the core. "To be an artist is to believe in life." Henry Moore These resilient students have captured in their own way two beautiful fragments of life. Truth + Peace. They have shared them in all their different forms, shapes, shades and incarnations. The whole really is greater than the sum of the parts. As a whole you see and feel how these concepts are so completely worth fighting for.
