Let's make this year one of growth, exploration, and endless possibilities. I am excited to see the incredible achievements and adventures that await us. Together, we will continue to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.
Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

Most Frequently Asked Questions as a Girl Scout
How much does it cost to become a Girl Scout?
Our national organization GSUSA charges yearly membership dues of $25 per girl/adult which gets sent directly to them (like when you join a sorority in college). The membership dues do not stay with our council but entitles you and your girl to all the benefits and recognition of belonging to Girl Scouts When new troops form, the troop leader may ask each parent to contribute to troop dues to get the troop up and started Troops also earn money while learning new skills by participating in the Fall Product and Cookie Program.
When is the Girl Scout Membership Year?
A new membership year begins each year from October 1 - September 30. The $25 membership dues are due to GSUSA yearly to maintain your and your girl’s membership.
Do I need special skills or have a history with being a Girl Scout in order to volunteer or to become a troop leader?
No! All you need is the desire to make a difference in the lives of many, the desire to be a mentor/role model for girls, and a love of having FUN! We have in-person and online training that you can complete at your own pace.
When does the famous Cookie Program begin?
January - March is our primary cookie program season where girls learn valuable entrepreneurial skills while earning cool prizes for themselves and money for the troop!
How do I become a Troop
Leader?
You will register on our website at https://www.gskentucky.org. You will then be put in contact with your Community Engagement & Recruitment Coordinator based on your school/geographic region, complete a background check, be assigned a troop number, and complete your basic trainings, which are all online.
Can our girls go camping?
Yes, we cannot wait to see you around the campfire! Girls need connection more than ever, and camp is the perfect place for it!
Does my girl have to participate in a troop?
No, your girl does not have to participate in a troop to be a Girl Scout There are so many ways she can participate - let her pick and choose the activities/programs she wants to do! Check out our Program & Activities Guide.
