LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Kentucky Bankers Association announces that Ballard W. Cassady, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of the Association, will be stepping down effective July 31, 2026. The KBA Board of Directors has selected General Counsel Timothy Schenk to succeed Cassady as President and CEO. Cassady joined the Association in May 1986 and has served as President and CEO of the state-wide trade association for the past 40 years. “Ballard has been the leadership of this Association for four decades and it is impossible to overstate what that has meant to Kentucky banking,” said Lee Scheben, KBA Chairman. “He has been a tireless advocate and a trusted friend to bankers across the Commonwealth. On behalf of the board and our entire membership, I want to thank Ballard for his extraordinary service and wish him every happiness.” The Board’s selection of Schenk reflects the KBA’s ongoing commitment to serving the bankers of Kentucky. Schenk currently serves as General Counsel of the Kentucky Bankers Association, working closely with Cassady and the Association’s leadership on the key legislative, regulatory, and memberservice priorities that define the heart of KBA’s work. “I am deeply humbled by the board’s confidence and thankful to Ballard for the privilege of working alongside him these past years,” said Schenk. “Kentucky’s bankers are among the country’s finest, and it is my honor to continue serving them in this new capacity.” Throughout his distinguished tenure, Cassady has worked tirelessly to advance the KBA’s mission of serving Kentucky bankers. “I’m beyond grateful for 40 years of working on behalf of the bankers of Kentucky,” said Cassady. “I am especially thankful for the support of our Board of Directors, my family, and the incredible team here at the Association.”
