Target Audience

Most four-year art degrees come with hefty price tags ranging anywhere from $30,000 to $45,000. In fact, the U.S. Department of Education data show that 7 of the top 10 most expensive schools in this country (after scholarships and aid) are art schools, and arts graduates’ debt loads are higher than those of non-arts graduates.

At the start of each semester, art majors face the financial challenge of finding the cheapest price for the many different colors, sizes and types of materials listed on class syllabi. On average, art majors spend between $1,500 and $2,500 on supplies in their first year depending on their area of study.

Visual & Performing Arts

The largest single share of Visual & Performing Arts graduates go on to work as elementary and middle school teachers.

The primary target audience is young adults between 18-28 who are still in school or the early stages of their artistic career. Being in the early stages, this target audience may not be financially stable to afford the expensive supplies to hone their artistic styles and could benefit from exchanging supplies or purchasing used supplies at a lower cost.

The secondary target audience is creative teachers. Most teachers end up supplying materials out of their own pockets. By purchasing used supplies at a lower cost, teachers are able to teach and spread the love for art without passing on the cost to their students.

Arts can be expensive especially for those with a creative full time occupation. https://datausa.io/profile/soc/artists-related-workers

The third target audience is the crafters. A crafter may work with various materials. Whether it is a hobby or a small business, crafters can benefit tremendously from being able to connect with other crafters and seeing what materials they can trade or purchase at lower cost.
