IN-HOUSE IRRIGATION
We have a team of licensed irrigation experts who are well-equipped to adjust to any last-minute changes that may arise during the design and construction phases. As part of our standard scope of services, we always perform irrigation design in-house, unless the client has other instructions. This allows us to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail in our work.
CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION
Your Partner From Design to Delivery
When construction is initiated, our dedicated Construction Administration (CA) Team can be on-site periodically during the construction process to uphold high-quality installation standards. They are connected throughout the project but their role begins during the construction documentation phase and bid advertisement, to warranty inspection and final punch walks, ensuring that the contractor is providing the correct softscape and hardscape materials. Additionally, our CA Team will consistently communicate with selected contractors to promptly process submittals, RFI’s, and pay applications.
Our CA Team regularly performs field visits to ensure materials and installation meets specifications. They are also available to tag trees and review plant and hardscape materials. Field reports are prepared after each visit, itemizing any potential issues. Closeout inspections are also provided at the end of the construction phase.

With over 38 years of working experience, Darin is a skilled and effective communicator. As Founding Partner, he is responsible for reviewing all design and construction documents. Having managed, reviewed, and overseen hundreds of MPC projects over his three decade career, Darin provides a wealth of knowledge for each community we design. In addition his experience also includes healthcare, education, on-structure pool decks, multifamily, mixed-use, retail centers, office buildings, hospitality, public parks, splash pads, churches, and residential design.

This confidential boutique hotel is set to become a beacon of luxury and history in the midwest, blending modern elegance with a deep reverence for the city’s storied past. Located in a historic school building, this boutique hotel celebrates the legacy of a visionary lumber baron and philanthropist whose contributions to education, public spaces, and civic institutions helped shape the city’s vibrant identity. This 40-45 unit hotel, spanning 55,000 square feet and a full city block, reflects the owner’s dedication to revitalizing this iconic landmark. Key elements include a grand yet inviting arrival space to welcome guests in style, an outdoor event venue tailored for events and gatherings, an outdoor garden and spa area with formal gardens, a hot tub, cold plunge, and sauna, offering a tranquil retreat, and an outdoor terrace for the restaurant providing a picturesque setting for alfresco dining.

LUXURY OUTDOOR AMENITIES

SFA UNIVERSITY STEM BUILDING
The Stephen F. Austin University STEM Building envisions a vibrant and educational outdoor environment that seamlessly integrates with the academic and scientific pursuits of the campus. The focal point of this project is the creation of an outdoor science-themed plaza adorned with captivating 3D metal art sculptures, providing students and visitors with a unique and visually stimulating experience. In addition to the artistic elements, the plaza will feature seat walls and charging stations, offering a space for relaxation and modern amenities. An outdoor classroom with seatwalls promotes outdoor learning opportunities, while pedestrian walkways and educational pavements, adorned with typography-designed science facts, facilitate movement and inspire curiosity. SFA graphic banners along the pedestrian walkways proudly represent the university, and a commitment to tree preservation is evidence of the project’s dedication to sustainability and greenery within the campus landscape.

TEXAS A&M CORPS OF CADETS
Texas A&M University began a total overhaul of the roughly 23-acre site composed of The Corps Halls and their adjacent open spaces in 2015. K&W’s extent of services consisted of landscape lighting design, irrigation and softscape. The hardscape design included 95,000 sf of pavers, retaining walls, ramps and stairs. Native and adaptive planting were utilized in the softscape. 670 gallon (9”10” caliper) live oak trees were installed and custom grown for K&W. Landscape furnishings consisted of: benches, trash receptacles, monument locations and bike racks.

TEXAS A&M RELLIS CAMPUS
The latest expansion on the Texas A&M University (TAMU) campus is an impressive addition that encompasses several key components. This expansion includes the TTI Building, CIR Building, CUP Building, and the ITDC Building, each contributing to the campus’s growth and functionality.
Notably, entry signage and well-designed roundabout entries enhance the campus’s accessibility and aesthetics. Outdoor seating areas, complemented by strategically placed shade structures and thoughtfully designed lighting, create inviting spaces for students and faculty to gather and collaborate. Furthermore, the expansion includes our irrigation and landscaping design, featuring lush greenery and tree-lined streets. Pedestrian walkways weave through the campus, promoting a pedestrian-friendly environment and fostering a sense of community within this thriving academic institution.

HARRIS HEALTH LBJ HOSPITAL
Set to open in late 2028, this state-of-the-art, 12-story facility will replace the outdated LBJ Hospital, upgrading it to a Level 1 Trauma Center. At the heart of this project is the establishment of Harris Health’s first community farm. This farm is set to deliver 500 pounds of fresh, organic produce every week to both patients and neighborhood residents. Beyond its role in food production, the farm will serve as an educational hub, teaching the community about sustainable agriculture, organic farming methods, and environmental stewardship. Complementing the farm is a bio-remediation wildflower garden, designed not only to beautify the landscape but also to play a crucial role in improving soil health, reducing pollution, and promoting biodiversity. This garden will attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, helping restore ecological balance while detoxifying the soil. By incorporating this element, the project showcases the powerful intersection of healthcare and sustainability, proving that hospitals can be much more than places of medical care—they can also be centers for environmental healing and community development.

BAYLOR ST. LUKE’S O’QUINN TOWER
Baylor St. Luke’s Health’s O’Quinn Medical Tower, situated within the expansive 27.5-acre McNair Campus, stands as a beacon of innovation and dedication to patient care. With an impressive 400,000 square feet of space and a monumental investment of $1.3 billion into the campus, this state-of-the-art outpatient and care center represents a significant milestone in advancing healthcare services. As the new hub for outpatient clinics and surgery services, it symbolizes the institution’s commitment to the well-being of its patients, providing them with access to cutting-edge medical facilities and expertise.
Central to the design ethos is the meticulously crafted entry landscape, meticulously designed to incorporate extensive green spaces. This deliberate integration of nature offers patients a unique opportunity to reconnect with the natural world, enhancing their overall health and well-being. A standout feature of the design is the inclusion of balcony gardens on each level, providing patients, staff, and visitors alike with spaces to immerse themselves in nature and embrace the healing power of sunlight.

Century Square is a mixed-use development that is adjacent to Texas A&M University creating a regional destination space where people can work, play, shop, and connect. The project goal was to be the first walkable, urban mixeduse environment in Brazos Valley featuring luxury living and cozy hotel stays.
Our designs feature a central courtyard with seating areas, water features and pedestrian walkways with lighting design. The courtyard is intended for multifunctional uses, including live music, concerts and community events.
The dynamic open green spaces, entertainment, and engaging events provide around-the-clock amenities and create a unique lifestyle for residents and guests of the Brazos Valley Community.

BELLAIRE PLACE
Bellaire Place is an open-air, pedestrian-forward development in the City of Bellaire, designed to create a walkable and accessible destination for residents and visitors alike.
Nestled within Houston’s green heart, this contemporary mixed-use space has transformed the 30-acre Chevron campus into a new landmark for the city. Our design for Bellaire Place emphasizes seamless integration with the surrounding environment, featuring shade structures such as breezeways, canopies, and facade screens that enhance comfort and encourage outdoor activity. The development is thoughtfully connected to parks and open green spaces, providing an urban community park where residents can gather, engage in community events, and connect with nature.
Bellaire Place offers an all-in-one experience that elevates entertainment, shopping, dining, and work, finally giving residents a dynamic central gathering space that reflects Houston’s vibrant, global culture.

GOSLING OAKS
Gosling Oaks is a mixed-use development designed around three public greenspaces, each centered on preserved heritage oak trees. The site includes ±100K SF of retail and restaurant space, ±40K SF for medical and office use, and 390 luxury multifamily units.
KW’s design highlights Canopy Square, featuring a children’s skywalk and treehouse, along with Biergarten Grove, anchored by a local brewery and a European-style market square. The project seamlessly integrates nature with serene, tree-lined patios and activated lawns, creating inviting spaces for guests to enjoy.

The prestigious St. Regis Residences brand is debuting in Houston with a proposed 35-story luxury condominium tower on a four-acre site, offering stunning views of River Oaks, Memorial Park, Downtown Houston, and Buffalo Bayou. This development will feature state-of-the-art architecture with a focus on elegance and exclusivity, enhancing Houston’s skyline. The property will be beautifully landscaped with lush greenery, creating a serene and picturesque environment for residents. A private amenity area will provide exclusive facilities and services, including concierge assistance, valet parking, and 24-hour security, fostering a sense of community and luxury. This new multi-family development, ideally located near Deep Ellum and the Downtown Historic District in Dallas, Texas, epitomizes modern urban living. The 12-story midrise building offers residents stunning views of the downtown skyline, complemented by an on-structure luxury lounge pool perfect for relaxation and socializing. Its prime location provides easy access to some of the city’s most vibrant cultural, dining, and entertainment areas, ensuring residents are never far from the action. The development also features state-of-the-art amenities, including a fully equipped fitness center and secure, covered parking. Modern design elements throughout the building emphasize both style and functionality, creating an inviting atmosphere for all residents. The Ford is a new 17-story multi-family development located in the vibrant Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Texas. The project includes a 13-story residential tower spanning 405,387 square feet and a four-story parking garage. Additionally, the ground floor features space dedicated to a residential leasing office and co-working area. The building’s fifth level includes amenity and pool areas, covering about 15,347 square feet. The amenity deck will pay homage to Deep Ellum’s musical roots with a pool deck resembling piano keys and other musical elements. This thoughtful design aims to connect residents with the cultural essence of Deep Ellum. The development is designed to enhance community interaction with spaces that encourage creativity and social engagement. With its unique blend of residential comfort and cultural homage, The Ford is set to become a landmark in the Deep Ellum neighborhood. The Grayco South Shore multi-family project in East Austin is an 8-story mid-rise residential development currently under construction, offering stunning views of downtown Austin. Designed with luxury and convenience in mind, the project features a rooftop pool, a serene courtyard with a water fountain, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and a dedicated dog park. Additionally, the complex includes mixed-use retail and restaurant spaces, providing residents with diverse amenities at their doorstep. Emphasizing sustainability, KW preserved several heritage trees along the streetscape and integrated two raingardens to collect and reuse rainwater throughout the property. This thoughtful design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also promotes environmental responsibility. The Grayco South Shore project promises to deliver a blend of modern living and natural beauty, setting a new standard for urban residential developments in Austin.

7600 Broadway is a luxurious multi-family development located in the heart of San Antonio’s historic Alamo Heights neighborhood. The development enhances the neighborhood’s streetscape, fostering a more walkable environment and contributing to the area’s allure. The project features 54,000 square feet of office space alongside spacious residences, ensuring convenience and accessibility for both work and leisure.
KW’s authentic design extends to every detail, from the on-structure amenity deck on the fourth floor, complete with a resort-style infinity edge pool, cozy fireplace lounge areas, outdoor kitchen, and serene yoga lawn space, to the meticulously crafted exterior landscape at street level. Here, native plantings, hardscape pavers leading to the parking garage, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, inviting benches, and sustainable rainwater practices come together to create an oasis of beauty and functionality.

Aspire Post Oak, a luxurious residential tower soaring 40 stories high in the esteemed Houston Galleria district, offers residents an unmatched living experience with its meticulously crafted outdoor landscape design.
Designed by KW, the amenity deck includes a stunning glass-edge pool, inviting residents to relax and soak up the Texas sun while enjoying breathtaking views of the city skyline.
Adjacent to the pool, a playful pet park provides a space for furry companions to frolic through the lush greenery, enhancing the sense of community among residents. For those seeking tranquility, a serene hammock grove offers a peaceful retreat, where residents can unwind amidst the swaying trees. The outdoor game terrace provides a dynamic space for leisure activities and friendly competition, fostering connections among neighbors. Parq on Speer is a new mixed-use, urban residential development in the Golden Triangle neighborhood just outside of uptown Denver. The 16-story project includes 302 units, with 12,538 SF of retail at the street level anchored by an urban grocer and coffee shop at one corner and a restaurant at the other.
The development is an elevated take on upscale urban living, with an extensive amenity level that features a Club Room, Aqua Lounge, Fitness Center, Dog Park, Community Room, WiFi Lounge and Morning Room, all culminating in a 14,275 SF deck whose pool offers spectacular views of the Rockies beyond.

1221 BROADWAY LOFTS
One of the first major residential developments near the iconic Pearl, 1221 Broadway Lofts is an award winning adaptive reuse project that includes 307 apartments and 10,000 SF of street level office space. In a commitment to revitalize downtown San Antonio, Area Real Estate took charge of an abandoned concrete superstructure project, and breathed new life and vision into it. KW incorporated on-site materials including simple concrete fixtures, complemented by beautiful, lush green landscaping.
The property complements the intimate green courtyards, ideal for outdoor picnics and gatherings, along with pools that offer a picturesque view of the iconic Riverwalk.
