We have supplied a considerable number of institutions with premium products that have solved their needs in a timely

manner. We believe that until the final user of our products is satisfied, the sales process is not complete thus we esteem great customer service above anything else. WHAT WE DO

We manufacture a wide range of products which are produced in our state-of-the-art factory at Tema which include: • Liquid Detergents (different kinds for different purposes) • Disinfectants (ranging from preoperational antiseptic disinfectants to general purpose disinfectants) • Degreasers (special chemicals which remove oil, grease, grime and fat deposits) We also supply special chemicals such as: Calcium Hypochlorite, Soda Ash, Ethanol, Toluene, PVP Iodine, Tar remover, Water treatment chemicals, Cooling tower chemicals, Demineralization chemicals, Fire-fighting chemicals, Chemicals for power generation among others.

HISTORY

Unfortunately, business Belshaw Limited had its humble beginnings in the backyard of its founder and owner, Mr. Kwabena Sarpong. Mr. Sarpong used his excellent knowledge of chemistry to develop chemical formulae for highly effective detergents, disinfectants and degreasers. In 1982, the company at Tesano in Accra consisted of two people: Mr. Sarpong and the late Mr. Kwame Asamoah. For approximately 7 months production continued and business gradually increased as independent salesmen were hired to market the various products.

MANAGEMENT TEAM Kwabena Okyere Sarpong (Msc., MBA., Bsc.) Kwabena Sarpong is the Founder and Managing Director of Belshaw Limited. Kwabena is a seasoned chemist with over 4 decades of experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Technology from University of Science and Technology (Ghana), Master of Science degree in Chemical and Petroleum Refining Engineering from Colorado School of Mines (USA), a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from University of Colorado (USA) and a Diploma in Management Processes from Arthur D. Little Inc., Massachussets, USA. Over the past 40 years, he has served in various capacities in different companies which culminate into his rich business experience. In 1970 he served as a Shift Supervisor at Tema Oil Refinery where he was tasked to troubleshoot start up and shut down operations and supervise topping, premier former units, power station and movement of product units of the refinery.

After that, he served as an Industrial Consultant at GEA Chemicals Limited at Accra in 1979. There, he acted as a trend spotter and identifier of new product requirements, coordinated production engineering and worked in the marketing department as well.

As a Sales Representative of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Texas, USA, he reviewed and

analyzed clients’ retirement and investment programmes from 1984 to 1987.

While working at different organisations and gathering experience, he had started chemical production from the humble beginnings of his backyard at his Community 5 residence in 1982 and has progressively grown it into an established company, Belshaw Limited.

Since 1999, he has been a board member of several boards, such as Multi Credit Savings and Loans (Kumasi), Ghana Telecom (2002 – 2004), National Sports Council (2005 – 2009) and Gold Venture Capital Company (2007 – 2011).

Kwabena has a passion for excellence and has ensured that this value has been interwoven into the corporate culture of Belshaw Limited.

He is such an inspiration to the staff at Belshaw due to the innovative ideas he purveys and the zeal with which he ensures that those ideas culminate into tangible products that ultimately change the lives of users.

Prior to establishing Belshaw Limited, he was the governor of Bank of Ghana where he ensured that inflation levels were kept at bay. He instituted fiscal policies that saw Ghana reduce spending and increase exportation.

MANAGEMENT TEAM Ing. Nana Afua Sarpong (Bsc.(CEng), MBA, MGhIE) Nana Afua Sarpong is the Director of Operations of Belshaw Limited. She graduated from University of Massachusetts, Amherst School of Engineering, USA with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Management) from the University of Maryland, University College, Adelphi, MD, USA She has over 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering and Project Management in the real estate industry. She has both international and local experience having worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation, one of America’s largest defense contractors as a Structural Engineer.

Whiles there, she worked on large industrial and commercial projects before moving to Ghana in 2010 to work with Trasacco Estate Development Company as a Planning and Procurement Engineer.

Nana Afua Sarpong brings to Belshaw Limited five years of planning, coordinating and managerial expertise and she is responsible for managing the various departments for a smooth manufacturing to end of sale process.

She currently leads the team of professionals to rebrand the company and its products to penetrate the Ghanaian consumer market and make Belshaw a household name.

Samuel Kwakye (Bsc. Biochemistry) Samuel Kwakye is the production manager at Belshaw Limited. He holds a degree in Biochemistry from University of Ghana. He oversees the formulation and production of quality detergents, disinfectants and degreasers. Kwakye also specializes in customizing chemicals to meet the exact needs of clients. He assesses cleaning projects and recommends best procedures to follow to achieve best results from chemicals used.

MANAGEMENT TEAM Yvonne Phillips (CIMA, ACCA, CA) Yvonne Phillips is a result-oriented Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) with a passion for excellence and professionalism. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) degree from the Valley View University, a Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree from the Central University College and a Certificate in GSE Securities from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Over the past ten (10) years, she has led various Finance and Administrative functions of some institutions within the Non-governmental, Petroleum and Distribution & Supply chain industries. Key amongst them include the Ghana Trade & Livelihoods Coalition (Non-Governmental Organization) where she served as the Finance & Administrative Manager, and Zen Petroleum Limited where she served as Financial Controller.

Prior to joining this company, Yvonne served as the Branch Accountant and subsequently the Treasury Manager of the Far East Mercantile Group charged with the very significant responsibility of managing the treasury functions of the company.

Paulina Akosah (Msc., BA) Paulina is the Human Resource Administrator at Belshaw Limited.

She graduated from University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Arts in Information Studies and Political Science. As part of her role at Belshaw, she accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results. She ensures that qualified personnel are recruited and are excellently motivated reflect in high productivity levels.

She is a member of Society Human Resource Management (SHRM)

Alfred Asante (Msc. Bsc.) Alfred Asante is the head of marketing at Belshaw Limited. His rich experience in nurturing and managing the growth of Fast Moving Consumer Goods is unparalled. He is currently ensuring that Belshaw gains a large share of the market. He graduated from the Methodist University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. He went on further to obtain an advanced level in marketing as a Chartered Marketer. He is a past member of the European Marketing
