THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST –ADUM ASSEMBLY

For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens. (2 Corinthians 5:1 ESV)

The entire membership of the Adum assembly of the Church of Pentecost expresses our deepest sorrow and pain as we pay this tribute in memory of our mother and sister in the Lord who has gone to be with the Almighty.

Deaconess Jane Andoh Sey who was affectionately called Auntie Jane converted into the Church of Pentecost in the year 1965 at Cape Coast, where she received her water baptism by Pastor L.A Nyarko of blessed memory.

Auntie Jane joined Bompata District in Kumasi together with her late husband Elder George Sey in 1975. Together with her husband they went on various transfers and as a result worshiped with Bompata assembly, Asawasi assembly, Bantama assembly and finally ended at Adum assembly.

Deaconess Jane Andoh Sey was ordained a Deaconess in 1995 by the late Apostle B.K Arthur. She retired from officership in 2012.

Aunty Jane was a devout Christian who loved the Lord sincerely. She demonstrated this by giving her offerings and paying her tithes regularly. She was seen as a cheerful giver as she took delight in giving parcels and envelopes to many of the Church members. Generally, her financial contribution to the church could not be measured.

Although Deaconess Jane Andoh Sey was a retired officer and far older than many of the officers and members, she accorded them maximum respect as overseers of the flock of God. Whenever there was the need for her to travel, she would take proper permission from the officers concerned before going. She was respectful and submissive to church authority. She loved all people and respected them irrespective of their ages. In addition, she was hardworking and this became evident in her contributions to the women’s ministry.

As we prepare to commit her soul to the Lord her creator, the words of the prophet Isaiah come to mind that “those who follow Godly paths will rest in peace when they die! (Isaiah 57:2)’’. It is the belief of the church that God will smile seeing her coming to join the heavenly choir to sing. We on earth will shed tears, and her absence would forever be felt, and still finding

Maame Sey, we shall forever remember you with your pieces of advice that we should all the time exercise constraints in all matters.
