KHALIFA UNIVERSITY TOP IN UAE IN 2021 TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION ARAB UNIVERSITIES RANKING NEW RANKING INDICATES EMPHASIS ON LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY-RELEVANT RESEARCH, WORLD CLASS FACULTY EXPERTS AND QUALITY EDUCATION
Khalifa University has announced that it is top-ranked in the UAE and has remained among the top 10 out of 125 Arab institutions in the 2021 Times Higher Education (THE) Arab Universities Ranking that was announced at the THE Arab Universities Forum . Khalifa University ranked sixth overall in the THE list that assessed universities from 14 Arab countries. The ranking is THE’s most comprehensive assessment of higher education in the Arab region to date. Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi said: “Our ranking in the latest 2022 Times Higher Education Arab Universities Rankings once again establishes the emphasis we place on locally and globally-relevant research, world class faculty experts and our quality of education. We believe this ranking will encourage us further to seek even greater heights in the future.” Dr. Arif was also one of the invited speakers at the Forum who talked about the role of academic institutions in achieving the global mission of greater sustainability. 100 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS UNDERGOES ‘ESTEDAD’ NATIONAL AMBASSADORS PROGRAM TRAINING AT KHALIFA UNIVERSITY
Khalifa University has announced that a total of 100 students selected under the National Ambassadors Program ‘Estedad’, a capacitybuilding initiative in collaboration with the
participants are provided this kind of training at Khalifa University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
UAE Ministry of Education, have undergone training at Khalifa University in various tracks.
The Estedad National Ambassadors Program is a prerequisite for the International Ambassadors Programs that the Ministry of Education has been implementing annually since 2016. The program involves different tracks including Innovation, Future, Diplomacy, Sports, and Masterpieces. Those students who excel in the National Ambassadors Program will have priority access to the International Ambassadors Program.
The high school students – 74 UAE national and 26 international students – underwent a two-week training during summer to gain essential skills, enabling them to prosper in various fields in which research, design thinking, entrepreneurial, leadership, and interpersonal skills are highly required. KHALIFA UNIVERSITY’S SOCIETY OF PETROLEUM ENGINEERS STUDENT CHAPTER RECEIVES EXCELLENCE AWARD Khalifa University’s very own Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Student Chapter was recognized with the SPE International Student Chapter Excellence Award. The Excellence Award is the second highest honor given by the SPE to the top 20% of their student chapters all over the world in acknowledgement of the chapters’ success in fulfilling the SPE’s mission through their programs and activities. This year’s award also highlights the resilience of the KU SPE Student Chapter during these challenging times, especially at the beginning of the school year. Dr. Hadi Belhaj, Petroleum Engineering Associate Professor and KU-SPE Faculty Advisor, has
guided the chapter and shared his expertise with the students, said: “The KU-SPE Student Chapter is always one of the very active chapters around the world and the top of the region. Their success in recent years, including winning the 2021 SPE Student Chapter Award, is a testament for this leading role. I am very proud of our KU-SPE Student Chapter for their remarkable achievements. Their resilience, hard work, and dedication to the SPE despite the current unprecedented challenges of C-19 restrictions and impairment economy paid off. The KU-SPE Student Chapter paved the way for generations to come and showed how to turn challenges to opportunities. I am sure their best is yet to come!”

KHALIFA UNIVERSITY STUDENT TEAM WINS TOP SPOT IN VERBAL PRESENTATION AT 2021 SAE COLLEGIATE DESIGN SERIES SUPERMILEAGE COMPETITION KHALIFA UNIVERSITY TEAM ALSO RETAINS 6TH SPOT IN DESIGN SEGMENT TO REMAIN AHEAD OF RENOWNED INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITIES

Khalifa University announced that a 21-member student team led by Sultan Al Hassanieh has won the top spot in verbal presentation for the first time during the Knowledge Event at the 42nd Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Collegiate Design Series Supermileage Competition for 2021. The team also retained 6th spot overall in the Design Event, the same position it won last year in Michigan, US.
Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive VicePresident, Khalifa University, said: “Our faculty members and the students have once again demonstrated that Khalifa University remains the top-ranked, globally-acknowledged academic institution with unparalleled expertise. Winning an international competition of this stature not only brings honor to the university but also to the UAE. MORE THAN 100 KU STUDENTS AND GRADUATES ATTEND THE UNIVERSITY’S FIRST ONLINE CAREER BOOT CAMP
Khalifa University’s Career and Alumni Department held the first Online Career Boot Camp which took place on the 22nd, 23rd & 24th of June. The purpose of the event is to equip KU potential graduates and students with the necessary employability skills through different sessions offered by senior business professionals from local and international firms and certified career coaches in order to support their transition from university to their dream job and to prepare a capable generation who can contribute and create the difference in the UAE’s knowledge economy. A total of five employers from international and public firms in addition to six speakers from Khalifa University conducted exciting sessions about different topics as follows: 1. Network for success offered by LinkedIn 2. Entrepreneurship and Freelancing offered by Injaz UAE 3. National self-employment platform for freelancers and Job Market Demand offered by MOHRE 4. Personal branding Offered by Schneider Electric Different sessions offered by KU staff such as: 1. Interviewing skills 2. Professional development opportunities through Coursera 3. Advantages of being on Graduway (Alumni platform) Around 113 students and graduates attended the Online Career Boot Camp and their overall satisfaction rate reached 97% from the conducted sessions. All students were granted community service hours and an opportunity to participate (Optionally) in an exciting competition called Connect In, the purpose of the competition is to encourage the students to create an attractive LinkedIn profile and utilize the power of a professional network to reach their dream job.
