1 SHOPPING TRIP / It’s a word that makes many Finns’ skin crawl / I should go Friday shopping again, I really don’t want to go in that crowd! / My stockings are ripped and I need to get a new pair! / This routine task is something we would rather not experience. 2 Some people avoid the tedious shopping trips by shopping online for clothes and food. 3 The thing, that puzzles me about this aversion towards shopping trips is simply that…
1 ...shopping trips are actually WONDERFUL! <3 2 You may think I’m a total weirdo, but think for yourselves: / what could be more refreshing than getting your ass out of bed, doing your morning routines and leaving the flat. 3 Outside, the nature is just waiting to cheer your up with all the mother nature’s lovely creations. 4 After this invigorating trip we've arrived to the downtown. / To the heart of the shopping trips <3 5 The local shopping mall is buzzing with people. 6 I wonder where they came from? / Wonder what they do for work? / At times like these, it’s nice to just observe people.
1 Next, we move on to the most splendid part of shopping trips: the purchases! 2 What could be more splendid than filling up the closet with a vintage dress one has dreamed of for so long? / The addition needs its own pair of shoes! 3 This new dress look also demands a new shade of lipstick! 4 As artists, we must get a new set of watercolors to replace the worn out one! 5 To culminate the shopping trip, one needs to treat themselves in the cafe! / Pumpkin spice latte is a part of my fall routine!

*KELA, short for kansaneläkelaitos is the Social Insurance Institution in Finland, that deals with the Finns' pensions, but also pay different kinds of monetary benefits for those who can't earn enough for themselves.
