Mr. Sid welcomes Fall 2025 with a collection that has never been more complete. This season, we’ve curated an assortment that feels both sophisticated and effortless—balancing modern tailoring with soft, luxurious textures.
We’re thrilled to welcome Maurizio Baldassari back to the Mr. Sid family. With the full collection on hand, this partnership brings an urban elegance defined by refined knitwear and relaxed sport coats. Expect slightly softened tones, comfortable silhouettes, and elevated versatility. We’ll be showcasing Maurizio Baldassari exclusively at our October 30th event at Charles River Country Club, benefiting our signature charity—the Newton Firefighters Children’s Fund Ira Segel Scholarship. We’ve also added Berwich, a hand-tailored trouser line made entirely in Italy—perfectly cut and ideal for the modern office. How did you first discover Mr. Sid, and what drew you to the store?
I first discovered Mr. Sid about ten years ago when I moved back to Boston. I was walking by their Seaport store, where I lived at the time, and decided to stop in. I was looking for a men’s store that matched the quality and taste of a place I’d shopped in Philadelphia—and I found that, and more. What first got my attention was how perfectly the selection matched my personal style.
What keeps you coming back?
First and foremost, the people. When you build great relationships, you stay loyal. The quality of the clothing speaks for itself, and the tailoring is exceptional. But what really sets Mr. Sid apart is the experience—it’s relaxed, personal, and fun. Whether you want to take your time, have a drink at the bar, or just chat, it’s always a stress-free experience.
Tell us about your relationship with Moussa.
I consider Moussa a good friend at this point. He has great style, so when he points me in a certain direction, I trust him. I appreciate that he pushes me outside my comfort zone with new colors, patterns, and fits. He knows my taste and which brands work best for me, and he’s quick to pull together combinations that just work. You can tell it’s important to him that every client leaves happy and looking their best. I also have to mention Joey and Marcus—they’ve both helped me along the way and always do a fantastic job.

My own style draws from that era but with a modern lens. I favor structured tailoring, clean lines, and neutral palettes, updated with contemporary fits, textures, and subtle details. It’s about honoring the past while dressing for the present. To me, style is a quiet form of storytelling—a reflection of respect for myself, for the moment, and for the legacy of great style that came before.

I first began my relationship with Mr. Sid many years ago, when I was introduced to its President, Stuart Segel. From the start, Stuart—like all of his staff—set the tone with collegial, individualized attention. Over the years, my connection with Mr. Sid has only deepened, especially through my relationship with Joey Glazer. I don’t think of Joey as a salesperson but as a friend. He’s more interested in me as a person than in the sale—often steering me away from choices that don’t fit my style or look right, the way a good friend would. And when life gets busy and I can’t make it into the store, I’ll often get a thoughtful text from Joey just checking in. That’s what makes Mr. Sid unique: it’s not a client–salesperson relationship; it’s a friendship built on trust, care, and genuine connection.
What keeps you coming back to shop here?
What keeps me coming back to Mr. Sid is the fraternal feeling the moment I walk through the door. There’s always laughter, genuine conversation, and a true interest in me as a person and my well-being. I never feel like I’m just a customer.
