Commencement Messages

It was a hard road, and a long road,

But you kept your eye on the prize.

And with much work, and with some prayer,

You've reached the goal to be one of the wise!

¡La familia está muy orgullosa de !

-Mom and Dad

Yolanda Delgado

Watching you reach this moment has been nothing short of amazing. I know this journey was not easy, nor was it kind. It was full of hard choices, sacrifice, and strength that many didn’t see. It takes real courage to leave a 25+ year career you love to chase something new. I saw that. It takes strength to not run back to what’s easier when things get difficult. I saw that too. Some parts were amazing, while others were ugly. You took the good with the bad and kept your head up, even when all you wanted to do was put it down. I hope you look at this accomplishment and see what I see: a woman who never gave up, no ma er how heavy life became, no ma er how much she wanted to. I am endlessly proud of you, and I hope you are proud of yourself too. You deserve this moment, this joy, and everything that comes next. Congratula ons, graduate. We know you’ll be even more amazing at what comes next. We love you, always.

-Michelle, Sco , Olivia & Liam

In a world full of noise, you’ve created a clear signal. May your future con nue at peak amplitude, with breakthroughs that travel far and discoveries that always return to meaningful reflec ons. Keep pushing boundaries you’re opera ng at truly high resolu on now.

There are so many reason why we are so proud of you. You stayed strong even through the toughest of mes. You overcame obstacles that threatened to keep you from achieving your goals. You never gave up. You persevered. You are, in many ways, one of the strongest people we know. You inspire others to believe that anything is possible. I am so proud to call you my daughter!! Congratula ons on achieving your goal.

-Love you always, Mama

Paige Gonzalez

Our only beau ful baby girl, there are not enough words to express how incredibly proud we are of you! You are a force to be reckoned with. So beau ful, strong, talented, and intelligent. A true inspira on, driven, dedicated and accomplished. Watching you grow from our amazingly perfect li le girl to blossoming into a wonderful woman, mother and wife is truly the most beau ful gi and blessing. We love you with all our hearts. Every single day you make us so incredibly proud!

-Love, Mom, Dad, and family

Mikila Mangold

Mikila, you are a true inspira on to all of us! While chasing your dreams, you’ve taken such beau ful pride in the li le things you do every single day. You’ve gone above and beyond in school, all while raising our five incredible children as a stay at home mom and you’ve crushed it every step of the way. I couldn’t be prouder of you. We are so blessed to watch you flourish into even more of the beau ful, intelligent soul you already are. Just know you’re doing an amazing job, and the kids and I can’t wait to see where you go next on this crazy, wonderful journey we call life. I’m truly blessed to be doing it all with you. We love you so much!

Commencement Messages

Congratula ons Ashtyn! From the me you le Colorado to this very moment, we have watched you transform. You didn’t just earn a degree, you discovered more of yourself, what you stand for and what you can achieve. We want you to know how proud we are of your resilience and determina on. You have been able to balance rela onships, personal growth, your job, your academics and the unexpected events along the way with a level of grace that is inspiring. You are a woman of character, intelligence and kindness and that is the greatest achievement of all. As you start this new chapter, it is ok to feel a li le bit of everything- excitement, uncertainty and even a li le fear. But please, do not doubt yourself and the tools you have built. It is a big world out there, but you have already proven that you can handle it! Remember that educa on is a founda on, but your heart is your compass. Trust your intui on and never lose the spark that makes you uniquely you. We are so proud of you and don’t forget, we always have your back! We love you!

ACADEMIC REGALIA

Origin and Use

The academic costume worn today originated during the 12th and 13th centuries, when gowns and hoods kept scholars and clerics warm. The dis nc ve gown served to set the student apart from other ci zens. Un l a er the Civil War, students at most American universi es wore caps and gowns daily. They varied in design un l they were standardized by the American Intercollegiate Commission in 1894. At that me it was decided that all robes would be black - bachelors' gowns to be made of worsted stuff with pointed sleeves, masters' gowns of silk with long, closed sleeves, doctors' gowns of silk with longer sleeves and faced with black velvet from hem to neck and back. They also carried three velvet bands around each sleeve about the elbow. Hoods were made of the same material as the gowns, the length varying with the degree. The lining of the hood iden fies the highest degree-gran ng university by its color. Keiser University’s colors are blue and white.

The border of the hood indicated the academic discipline in which the degree was earned, as listed below:
