Year of the DRAGON

The Chinese zodiac features 12 animal signs in this order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Originated from ancient zoolatry and boasting a history of more than 2,000 years, it plays an essential role in Chinese culture. The 12 Chinese zodiac animals in a cycle are not only used to represent years in China, but also believed to influence people’s personalities, career, compatibility, marriage, and fortune. 2024 is a year of the Wood Dragon, starting from February 10th, 2024 (Lunar New Year), and ending on January 28th, 2025 (Lunar New Year's Eve).

What do you wish the Kunsan community knew about your programs? We always strive to provide better service to our customers. However, when we occasionally make unexpected mistakes and customers kindly understand with a good heart, it actually motivates us to approach the customers more gratefully and make an effort to bring smiles. We strive even harder to provide the best customer service, and it boosts our morale. 저희 웨이스탭들은 항상 고객에게 보다 나은 서비스를 제공하려고 노력을 합니다. 하지만, 때로는 예기치 못한 실수를 할때 고객분들이 좋은 마음으로 이해를 해주면, 오히려 저희는 고마운 마음에 더 고객에게 다가가고 웃음을 주려고 노력을 하며, 더 고객 서비스에 최선 을 다하려고 노력하고 사기가 충전이 됩니다. What is your best memory at Kunsan? Every moment I worked as a waitress in the club for over 25 years is a precious time filled with memories. Even now, I continue to share those times with customers. While meeting numerous customers at the club, the most rewarding moments are when a customer who stayed for a year returns to Gunsan, remembers me, and greets me. These moments always leave a lasting impression and a sense of fulfillment in my work. 클럽에서 25 년 넘게 웨이스탭으로 근무를 했 던 순간 순간이 모두 소중한 시간이고 추억 이며, 지금도 그 시간들을 고객들과 함께 보 내고 있습니다. 클럽에서 많은 고객들을 만 나지만, 1 년 머물고간 고객이 다시 군산에 와서 기억을 해 주시고 인사를 해 주실때 마 다 일에 대한 보람을 느끼고, 항상 기억에 남 습니다.

What is your favorite part about working at the Loring Club? We prepare various events, big and small, for airmen. I enjoy setting up tables and decorating for such events. It brings me joy and happiness every time I see the beautifully adorned tables, witness the satisfaction of the customers, and receive positive feedback when the events are successful. Additionally, it is most enjoyable when all club staff, despite facing challenges, collaborate with smiles on their faces to prepare and successfully conclude every event. 클럽에서는 군인들을 위한 크고 작은 행사들 을 위해서 준비해 줍니다. 이런 행사들을 준 비할때 테이블을 세팅하고 장식으로 꾸미고 하는 것을 좋아합니다. 제가 예쁘게 장식한 테이블을 보고, 고객들이 좋아하는 모습을 보 고, 행사가 잘 치뤄지고, 고객들에게 좋은 피 드백이 올때마다 저는 기쁘고 행복합니다. 또 한 클럽 직원들 모두가 힘들어도 웃는 얼굴로 서로 협력하면서 모든 행사들을 준비하고 잘 마무리 하였을때가 가장 즐겁습니다.

It opened in 1994 on the former site of the army headquarters to exhibit and memorialize the military history of Korea. The memorial building has six indoor exhibition rooms and an outdoor exhibition center displaying over 13,000 war memorabilia and military equipment.

Hwaseong Fortress & UN Forces First Battle Memorial Sun, 4 Feb, 0800-1800 (2.5-hr bus ride) $55 per person Hwaseong Fortress is an impressive structure from the latter part of the Joseong Dynasty (1392-1910) and the official fortress of Suwon City. The fortress (constructed from 1794 to 1796) was built as a show of the King's filal piety towards his father Jangheonseja and to build a new pioneer city with its own economic power.
