Import and Export from Agricultural Sector

There are no set export or import targets because the export and import of agricultural products depend on several circumstances, including the global and domestic demand and supply situation, global and domestic prices, quality issues, and food security concerns.

With the following vision: “Harness export potential of Indian agriculture, through appropriate policy tools, to make India a worldwide force in agriculture, and boost farmers’ income,” the government has created a comprehensive agriculture export policy.

We are increasing high-value and value-added agricultural exports, concentrating on perishables and diversifying our export destinations and basket.

To encourage the export of new, unique, organic, ethnic, traditional, and non-traditional agricultural products.

To provide a formal framework for pursuing market access, removing obstacles, and addressing sanitary and phytosanitary challenges.

To integrate with international value chains to quadruple India’s share of global agro exports.
