NEWBORN CARE DURING WINTER CONTINUE BREASTFEEDING Please continue breastfeeding even if you, your baby, or both of you are contagious. If you as the mother have a cold or a cough, washing your hands frequently and using a mask while breastfeeding will assist.

HUMIDIFICATION OF THE ROOM In the current climate, dry air is a typical issue, and humidifying the air makes breathing more comfortable.

NASAL SALINE DROPS: The majority of baby colds may usually be treated with one drop in each nostril 10 minutes before feedings. For the duration of the sickness, they can be given up to 4-6 times per day, but before doing so, consult your paediatrician or neonatologist.

NO SMOKING Whether indoors or outdoors. The idea that it is okay for family members to smoke outside the home is untrue since smoke particles have a tendency to attach to clothing.

MAINTAIN A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT Maximally free of dust. Do not use stuffed toys or other items as they collect dust and are difficult to clean.
