1 EXPERIENCE HISTORY UP CLOSE
Today, the BMW Museum stands as both an architectural landmark of Bayerische Motoren Werke and a cultural icon of the city of Munich. Since May 1973, the museum has been offering visitors from all over the world a fascinating and informative journey through more than one hundred years of corporate, brand, and product history of the BMW Group. Since its reopening in 2008, the museum has continued to set new attendance records year after year and proudly ranks among the most visited museums in Germany.

2 SPLASHING IN THE ISAR
On your way to Poschinger Weiher and Feringasee, you‘ll cycle past the Oberföhring Dam and vow to be one of the lucky people who can casually stand in the Isar next summer when the temperature is 30 degrees Celsius. Definitely a spot worth adding to your list of favorites – even if it‘s a bit busier than it used to be. But if you‘re already out and about, you can cycle further north and search for more secluded gravel banks!
STAUWEHR OBERFÖHRING , MAX-HALBE-WEG, 81925 MUNICH

3 ALTE UTTING
The Alte Utting is one of Munich’s most unique cultural landmarks — a former passenger ship that now sits atop a disused railway bridge in the district of Sendling. Since opening in 2018, it has become a beloved meeting spot for locals and visitors alike. With its mix of bars, street food stalls, live music, and stunning sunset views, the Alte Utting offers a vibrant, creative atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the city.

Since last year, the Kulturdachgarten has made its return — not on the parking deck this time, but on top of the Gasteig itself. The location couldn’t be better: a spacious terrace filled with seating areas, photo spots, and three bars stretches across the rooftop. But there’s even more to discover — one floor up, you’ll find a charming community garden with plenty of planting beds. Here, local residents can get creative and show off their green thumbs. What a great idea! I prefer to grab a drink with friends and enjoy warm summer evenings with a breathtaking view over Munich.

7 BE OVERWHELMED BY THE OPULENCE
Alright, friends — how many times have you strolled down Sendlinger Straße, leisurely wandering from shop to shop? A hundred times? And how often have you actually stopped in front of the Asam Church — or even stepped inside? Never? We can definitely relate. But if you’re ticking off the list of mustsee tourist spots, the Asam Church is one that’s easy to check off. Whether or not you’re a fan of the over-the-top splendor and ornamentation of late South German Baroque is another question entirely. Still, with its countless statues, flourishes, and intricate details, there’s more than enough here to keep your eyes busy for quite a while.

10 FIND YOUR ZEN
Tucked away in the heart of Westpark, the Japanese Garden is one of Munich’s most peaceful hidden gems. Built for the 1983 International Garden Exhibition as a gift from sister city Sapporo, it brings a true touch of Japan to Bavaria. Stroll along winding paths, listen to the gentle splash of water, and admire the perfectly shaped trees and stones. At its center stands a beautiful teahouse, where traditional tea ceremonies are held on special occasions — a perfect spot to slow down and find calm in the middle of the city.

5 START THE DAY AT LOST WEEKEND
Lost Weekend became known as Munich’s first fully vegan café. Everything here revolves around the vegan lifestyle, making it especially welcoming for those with food intolerances. Instead of the usual soy milk, you’ll find a refreshing variety of options like rice, almond, hemp, oat, and even lupin milk at their Theresienstraße location. All snacks and cakes on the menu are plant-based and, of course, completely vegan. Our personal favorite during the colder months: the Pumpkin Spiced Latte.

8 CLIMB FOR FREE
It’s one of the largest bouldering walls in the world – the Riesige Rosi (“Giant Rosi”). Spanning 700 square meters, it lets you climb your way along various walls through the Rosenheimerstraße underpass. There are routes for all skill levels, even some with overhangs. The floor is padded with mats — but still, be careful, as they’re not exactly soft! The Riesige Rosi was built by the German Alpine Club (Deutscher Alpenverein) and the Kraxl Kollektiv, who also regularly change up the routes. The whole project is volunteer-run, so if you’re into climbing, feel free to lend a hand!

The Viktualienmarkt, located in the heart of Munich’s old town, was originally a farmers’ and herb market. Today, it’s a popular destination for food lovers and visitors, offering everything from traditional Bavarian specialties to exotic fruits. Until the early 19th century, the market was located on Marienplatz and gradually evolved into today’s Viktualienmarkt. The name comes from the Late Latin word victualia, meaning „provisions“ or „food.“ By 1890, the market had reached its current size, expanded with additions such as fruit pavilions and a seafood hall.

6 FEEL LIKE YOU’RE AT HOGWARTS
If you struggle to find motivation but have a soft spot for stylish interiors or Harry Potter, this might be your perfect study spot. The Juristische Bibliothek, located inside Munich’s New Town Hall at Marienplatz, is a stunning multi-level reading room adorned with ornate woodwork and a whimsical spiral staircase — it truly looks like something straight out of Hogwarts!
With 50 workspaces, it’s considered one of Munich’s most beautiful reading rooms and is open to anyone who’d like to study there. To borrow materials from the library’s collection, you’ll need a Munich City Library card.

9 BAYRISCHE STAATSOPER
Anyone who fears bland food should definitely pay a Let’s be honest — have you ever been to the opera? No? Then it’s about time to dress up, polish your shoes, and bring your best manners. Because we’ve got great news for anyone who’s always wanted to visit the Bavarian State Opera but didn’t want to spend a fortune on tickets: The Opera offers a special ticket allotment for selected performances — just ten euros for anyone under 30. So, if you’re lucky enough to still be in your twenties, you can experience world-class productions for next to nothing. The best part? The seats aren’t bad at all, and you don’t need to be a student or in training — you just have to be under the big three-oh.

12 A PURRFECT PAUSE
Set in the hear of Munich’s Maxvorstadt district, the Katzentempel is a cozy haven for animal lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike. As Germany’s first vegan cat café, it offers a peaceful spot to unwind — with a delicious plant-based menu and a few furry hosts wandering between the tables. Take a seat, sip your cappuccino, and let the resident rescue cats charm you with their curious glances and quiet purrs. Whether you’re stopping by for brunch, cake, or simply some feline company, the Cat Temple is the purrfect place to relax, recharge, and share a moment of calm in the heart of the city.

More than an accessory — a connection that lasts. For Callum, style is about substance — and his favorite accessory tells a story close to his heart. The sleek watch he wears every day isn’t just about keeping time; it’s about keeping memories.
A gift from his father three years ago, the watch has become part of his daily rhythm — a quiet reminder of home and the moments they shared. Now based in Berlin, balancing law studies and weekends on the football pitch, Callum carries a piece of that connection with him wherever he goes.
